Make a Difference Day

Warmest wishes everyone! Today in the United States it is Make a Difference Day. This inspirational initiative is a wonderful reminder that every day - every moment - is an opportunity to consciously create a better world.

Every day, in every way, we truly can make a difference. I would like to invite you all to join with me in intentionally radiating peace. Every peace prayer, mantra, chant, song, peom, heart wish and vision is felt upon the inner planes…

Together we can create vibrational light waves of peace, through the vibration of our thoughts, intentions, visions and feelings. The combined resonance of loving voice and heartfelt action creates a wave that becomes a cosmic ripple that shimmers throughout the entire Universe.

Today is a wonderful opportunity to reflect upon the gift of light that you are, and how you wish to express this within our world. What are the unique qualities and attributes that make you who you are?

Living peace is a wonderfully creative and inspirational experience. One might weave peace into their day in a myriad of ways, for example, through singing peace, painting peace, dancing peace, or simply offering oneself as an instrument of peace through loving service. A while back I decided that I would sing peace, into each day, by chanting the Gayatri Mantra. A small action that has literally changed my life.

Let’s share some of the ways we can each make a difference today - and every day. We could have a “vision-storm” (kind of like a brainstorm, but more fun) and share our ideas and experiences here.

Just wanted to let you know I finally gathered up my nerve and participated in what I think is one of the great unexpected social phenomenon…the FREE HUGS movement.

I can so highly recommend this to everyone…especially as a Halloween costume. I put on some soft fuzzy clothes, made my FREE HUGS sign and waded into a crowd of 1,000+ costumed partying people.

The response was incredibly heartwarming! I must have gotten well over a thousand hugs, many people came back for seconds (and thirds!). I think the most amazing thing was the thanks I got from people for the hug! Seemed like some of them haven't been hugged in a long time!

So, if you were feeling a deep need to have your own personal faith in the world restored, make a FREE HUGS sign and get out there! You''ll be glad you did!

Hugs from my heart Lela! What a truly wondrous sharing. In this world of high tech virtual connection, and increasing social disconnectivity, your experience, and the phenomena that is the FREE HUGS movement, is so heart warming. Bravo to you Lela. It takes great courage to step out in this way and lovingly initiate social change.

One may never even know the difference initiated by the action of a single hug. These are the defining moments that inspire transformational change towards greater love and acceptance. Each time we offer love, through loving gesture, thought, word, or warm embrace of a hug, something wondrous happens. The energy changes. Barriers are dissolved. And love always generates more love.

Lela, I’m for one, am inspired. I would love to get out there, and join in the phenomena that is the FREE HUGS movement! I can feel a group hug coming on… HUGE HUGS to All!
