For me, political things come readily to mind, like the fall of the Berlin Wall, the dissolution of the Iron Curtain. I really wondered many times if the world was gonna make it through the Cold War. So glad we did!! |

That I would get a masters degree and teach at the college level. I considered myself a “C” student. Age can change ones motivations. That I would live again in the northeast…yuk! Many more, now I never disbelieve anything…I know possibility exists in everywhere! :)

Sometimes I think that “C” students are independent thinkers who'd rather find their own knowledge and not have to show it to others; rather than learn and rehash. |

I'm pretty kind to my students. Not all love literature, but if they try…and they seem to…I am very good to them. My teachers were regurgitation freaks, they insisted information be spit back and offered no room for opinion or creative ideas. I am pretty open. I tell them at the get go the only thing I will not forgive is excessive absences. You can't have taken a class when you are never there!LOL |

That so much knowledge would be so freely available. After university, it was so frustrating to try to get non-fiction journals to read, or even information on metaphysical subjects; that I was interested in since kid-hood. |

How true! finding metaphysical books even in 1987 was an undertaking…now we have a flood of stuff…and we all are also going back to the classics..knowledge is timeless… |

I never thought the Soviet Union would collapse, I thought that at it's core it was fundamentally a better system, I remember after reading about the latest tension between the U.S. and U.S.S.R. thinking I should write a letter to Mr. Brezhnev appealing to him to cool it, that in time they would win anyway and to just be patient. I underestimated the power of capitalism or the corruption in the Soviet Union. |

I think in college, when we first read Marx, it seemed like an amazingly idealistic world; as youth would be drawn to. But as we found, justice can't be institutionalized or imposed; it has to start from within, below, in our daily lives. |

This month I found out that my husband, the man I've been with for 25 years, has been lying to me for four years now. Not about another woman … but it serious nevertheless. So, I guess my answer would be that I never thought I would be starting over at the age of 56. And yet, here I am. rebooting my life once more. |

In my experience I have learned that the space between an ending and a new beginning is a choice point. This wonderful space is where Om (Ohm, Aum) resides. It is a place of unleashed, unlimited, potential and possibility! At the age of 52 I have also observed that these opportunities become more rare as we get older. In other words, if you can shift your perspective and look at this “rebooting” as an opportunity, you may well find that you have been given a rare and precious gift. All you have to do is receive it. |
