What color would you become?

If you could blink your eyes and become any color – not change your skin color – but actually become a humming orb of pure light, what color would you become, and why?

What color would you become?

To get the ball rolling, I'll share what color I would become if I could blink my eyes and actually become a color:

I would become a humming orb of pure GREEN light.  Green is associated with balance, love and peace.  When you need a boost in the areas of love and self-acceptance, indulge yourself with the color green.  The frequency of this color is aligned with the heart chakra; the middle chakra in a system of seven.  Green encourages us to love ourselves just as we are.  Love, the most powerful energy of all, helps us to heal emotional wounds through unconditional acceptance and understanding.  It is here—the place of the heart—where we become a balanced and peaceful being.

The most neutral color in the spectrum, pure green is strongly associated with nature.  Muted greens are calm, restful and soothing; while the shaded variants project trust and order, encouraging contemplation, serenity and repose.

The energy of green is soothing and mentally and physically relaxing.  It helps to alleviate depression, nervousness and anxiety, and it offers a sense of renewal, self-control and harmony.  Green reminds us to listen with our hearts and to fulfill our heart’s desire.  Archangel Raphael – Heaven’s Physician – is associated with the color green.  It’s no wonder that the frequency of green is often used in healing circles.

Laurie,

I see lots of color when I close my eyes to meditate.  Sometimes Green, sometimes Blue and sometimes Purple.  When I met my Higher Self, she was sitting on a bench in a beautiful garden wearing Purple.  Such peace, patience, love, compassion, good will - my heart sings whenever I connect with her in mind.

I think Purple or Violet would be my choice today.  I will share here what resonated with my own inner self, while researching the color today.  Purple is a very high vibration color, which in the practice of Feng Shui can be used freely in a healing room or meditation space.

It isn't surprising that I am attracted to it, as it is the color of Spirituality, Meditation, Magic, Mystery and the 7th (Crown) Chakra, which connects us to the universal.  It is a color chosen by people who seek spiritual fulfillment.

Too much violet can bring out qualities of irritability and impatience (I will admit that I am all quite too familiar with those).  It goes on to say “When this Chakra is blocked, we experience depression, alienation and confusion”.  Yep, I can see that effect too, if I can't do the “spiritual” work I'm longing for, because of other demands upon my very life and time.

The Lotus, Violet and Chamomile are the flowers of this color.  Purple flowers are often delicate and considered precious.  Every night I drink Chamomile Tea before bedtime.  And, I have always loved the Amethyst stone.

Derived from mixing warm and cool properties, the “color” people (who tell us what “the” color is each year) chose Blue Iris (Pantone 18-3943, for you who are design oriented) in 2008 because it combines “the stable and calming aspects of blue with the mystical and spiritual qualities of purple.  Blue Iris satisfies the need for reassurance in a complex world, while adding a hint of mystery and excitement”.  That must be a sign of spirituality rising within humanity; that it filters into these more mainstream applications.

This was fun, Laurie.  Thanks for starting this thread and giving me an excuse to play today.

Peace & Blessings -
Deb

Not sure what it signifies, but it was a toss up between violet and gold, maybe if I had to choose, the gold of sunshine, it's a lovely alive and optimistic colour, I also love natures greens, sky and sea blue……er ….can I be a rainbow colour ? LOL

Deb - I really enjoyed reading your answer.  I can sooooo see you resonating with purple in all of its shades.  Thank you for sharing.

Gael - Interestingly … violet and gold are across from each other on the color wheel.  This is usually a strong indicator of balance.

When I read your post, Zephyr, I thought of Kuan Yin's magnified healing flame; may not be similar, but I thought I'd bring that in.

Meenakshi - I have a small statue of Kuan Yin in my office as a gentle reminder to be compassionate.  Thank you for weaving her in.

That is easy for me, White.  My name is white, my house is white, my truck is white, my socks are white, almost everyday in Summer I wear a white shirt.  While some might think white is a boring color, it is mostly considered a value, there being only 3 primary colors.  Red, blue and yellow, with white and black being values.  However, white is comprised of the entire spectrum of colors visible to man, as playing with a prism will soon tell you.
