What do you do regularly for your physical health?

Meenakshi said Sep 28, 2008, 4:23 PM:

Let's share what we do weekly for our physical health.

Some points to share:
What you do
For how long
How many times a week
How often
When you started this activity/regimen
What made you start
Have you roped in anyone else in this activity?
How long do you intend to keep it up?

Deb's usual routine -

I start my day with a Lemon & Chinese Ginger tea by Twinings.  To this hot drink I add 2 tbsps of pure Lemon juice (my favorite is organic by Santa Cruz).  This is a liver tonic and is also good for reving up the metabolism.

I try to have an intestinal cocktail every day as well -  it is half a cup of Mountain Sun Pure Cranberry (not from concentrate, no sugar added) which I dilute with half a cup of water.  To this I add one tsp of Yerba Prima Psyllium Husks, one packet ea of Sweetleaf Stevia (as sweetener) and one packet of E-mergenC in Raspberry or Cranberry flavor for added nutrients.  I take a variety of Probiotics and the sugar blocking Konjac fiber Well Bet X with this.

I take so many supplements, I don't even want to get into it here.  I divide them up, some in the morning, some at bedtime but for months I can't get myself to do the bedtime ones.  I think I've burned out on them and so am taking a holiday, which is generally recommended once in a while.

I eat a high protein, low carb diet with organic fruits and veggies, whole grain fiber (including sprouted grain breads), flax oil instead of butter on toast, sweet potatoes, squash, etc, yogurt, cinnamon - whenever I can put it on something, Salmon once a week, organic lean meats.

I hike through our forest for an hour every day that I am able, which averages 6-7 days every week.  We live in a hilly country, so it is a good workout.  I do my prayer treatments on these walks and listen to inspirational material on CD or favorite music.  I walk in all weather and find that I feel the heat and cold less than most people, as this hardens me to the elements.  I never use insect repellents, even though we live in a jungle-like environment with plenty of insect pests.

I don't get enough sleep but recently my chiropractor, who appears very healthy and is definitely into a natural life style, told me he has only slept 6 hrs for years but does take a nap every day.  (yes, I do get occassional skeletal adjustments, I do believe in them but do not go weekly or even monthly, just when I feel the need to.  Usually, 2 or 3 treatments keep me going for up to 6 mos).

I don't take naps but the idea is very appealing.  I grew up in Siesta country.

I got into a new yoga pose this morning–well not new exactly-I have been working on it for three months.
I can finally do “Child's Pose”
You tuck your knees under you and rest your forehead on the floor and stretch your arms strait back!
I think it was mostly my perception of what my body was able to do that held me back.
It was the same thing in my yoga class with people.
I did things in there that I never thought possible–even a new pose.
I just get so excited about my body and it's ability to do things lately
Things it could not do even when I was young.
Another thing–This is usually the time of year when I have my “bipolar” episode.
Still not having one!!!!
Enjoying Autumn

L leanred the Feldenkrais Method in 1981 when I simultaneously practiced Wing Tsun and studied medicine.. And I am practicing some elements still today. A wonderful approach of bodily and neuro-motoric integration.

I am engaged most strongly in bringing Integral to mainstream to mainstream. Focusing last two years on connecting global gaps in communication. I am associate editor of Integral leadership Review and head of office for it for German speaking countries Germany, Switzerland, Austria. Global, consciouse leadership is a hot  ,controversial topic in Germany so I took action and went to the frontieres.

I was engaged in London Integral circle and I Have created a big personal global network of integrally, evolutionary and innovative persons across the globe.

Besides making my lving with consulting SME entering market in UAE . I involved in a massive learning process last 4 years..day and night -to understand in depth the real dynamics in arab Gulf Region and the global proceses between first, second and third world cultures.

Preparing myself to engage in the emerging German Center for Human Emergence. it al means working, networking, co.creating and engaging in a 24/7 365 manner. Living so to speak as change agent.

This Blog Project at Gaia took much time too. As very few people from Europe are engaged in it in a sustainable way for a longer time I did it to create as much connectivity as possible here. Maybe in near future this will change or take another form.

Best,

Albert
