Meenakshi (and Deborah), thanks for the primate birthday wishes!

For my birthday, I went to China for almost three weeks with my sweetheart, Martha.  And, while in China, on the Tibetan Plateau at a Tibetan Restaurant, we got engaged!

So, Birthday #58 was a particularly life-affirming, good one!

Wow, Earon. Talk of doing something BIG AFTER 50!!! Andrew asked if anyone had done something really big after they turned 50. I'd say this qualifies.

How romantic and unforgettable. Is Martha on Gaia too?

As for whether people do big things after 50, I started an entirely different career after 50 (healing massage).  I launched websites and started writing my first book after 50.  I began studies of Hinduism, Buddhism, Native American Traditions and Interspirituality after 50.  Last July, along with my brothers - we created a program on sustainability at the World Future Society annual meeting - and all four of us were over 50.

I wish I had more time to devote to being a gaia ambassador now, but I am so busy with all of these big projects!
