Just wanted to react to how easy it is to use the media to destabilise countries and force the world to support the wrong side. Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are used to show us that things there are bad, and the west Must Interfere, or Things Will Get Worse. We were shown some videos of gunfights and roaring crowds in Iran. The media globally took those smudged videos and commented on them as on real proof that mr. X is creating social hell in that country. Of course, close examination of those videos would show that in fact it's mr. Y leading the protesters, but that's not the news we need to know. Especially since so many people from that poor country managed to get online and twitter all about how mr. X is bad. |
