Just wanted to react to how easy it is to use the media to destabilise countries and force the world to support the wrong side. Twitter, Facebook and Youtube are used to show us that things there are bad, and the west Must Interfere, or Things Will Get Worse. We were shown some videos of gunfights and roaring crowds in Iran. The media globally took those smudged videos and commented on them as on real proof that mr. X is creating social hell in that country. Of course, close examination of those videos would show that in fact it's mr. Y leading the protesters, but that's not the news we need to know. Especially since so many people from that poor country managed to get online and twitter all about how mr. X is bad.

"We're preparing the troops already", we twitter back. "Don't worry, we'll save you."

My message is simple. Even if everyone says it's happening, don't believe it. "Everyone" may still be in on it, without knowing it.

Strong Tools for Personal Change

Chronometrage, or time metering. A powerful tool that can change the way we view our whole life. Simple and ingenious: from waking till sleep, monitor exactly what you are actually doing, write it down and analyse it. Analyse how much time is spent on small things and large things, on important things and on unimportant things. Can be an eye-opener indeed.

Self-recording. If you are interested in "knowing thyself", improving your relationships and your speech, use a voice recorder and record your conversations. Then simply listen through and analyse. A video-camera works even better (and helps with physical aspects such as posture and non-verbal patterns) but is less practical usually, while a dictphone can easily be bought/borrowed, as it's present in most cellphones and mp3players today. Very powerful tool.

With great joy, we are opening One Light Many Windows : a unique group on Gaia.

Spearheaded by Eli, this is a project that has quickly brought us together, as it awakened our shared dream: to identify, share and categorize the simple truths that can be found in many religions and paths. This effort will be a long-term one, and will require the contributions of many people.

The rooms in the group have been designed and structured to accommodate
spiritual and philosophical verses from traditional religions and other
faiths/paths, and to explore the similarities between diverse systems of thought throughout history.

Oh, goodness. I just rediscovered this thread (and Mark's idea) and it made my heart leap. Do you know whether anything came of this? Or is the idea still ready and up for implementation? I have a feeling that now it's would be more important than ever.

Mark Isaacsson wants to start a venture to help the homeless youth get off the streets and into a better home and life. Especially if you are around CO, and feel you might be interested in a conscientious investment or in helping homeless people in real ways, do take a look at his blog, as the venture is potentially a very good idea.

All mainstream news is biased, limited, and distorted. The internet is beginning to stand up to this. For example, some good newspeople, after getting sick of being marginalised in their work, having important parts of their documentaries cut off, witnessing how news and media generally is more about ratings and money and little about the TRUTH, decided to start something different. something not tied to government or corporate sponsorship and control.

And it's not just another antiglobalist blog. It's almost like mainstream TV, just without the b.s. Just take a look at www.therealnews.com

All through history humans have been driven to "harness nature". Temporary conveniences aside, humans have made a mess of things with their technology. And while many would argue that our advanced technology is going to save us, I would have to argue the opposite.

There is no more perfect system than nature. Self-regulating, self-propagating, self-healing. It has operated to perfection for millenium without human interference. I say the solutions to our problems can be found in that perfect system.

Two books I highly recommend: Mycelium Running by Paul Stamets and The One-Straw Revolution by Masanobu Fukuoka. I wrote a short review of Stamets' book last year.
Fukuoka's book is about a return to ancient agricultural principals (based on nature) that are non-polluting and result in higher, better crop yields.

We have always had the tools for survival at our disposal. Zet is justified in being overwhelmed by the urgency of this situation. We all should be. A shift in consciousness must take place in order for us to be successful in reversing runaway climate change.

I propose that we go back to the beginning. Simplify our lives. Stop runaway consumerism. Use natural means to solve our energy needs and clean up our messes.

Everyone who educates themselves on the problems and solutions must then ACT to effect change. We are 6 billion strong and working together we can make our home a paradise once again.

Matinde came to the US from Africa (where he was preparing to build a school) for skills and education last year and managed ok so far, but now he is without a room again as he had to leave the place where he was staying for now. If you know someone around Cambridge, MA, who could help Matinde out somehow with accommodation or suggest something, please do tell Matinde. As I see there is very little support for him there, unfortunately. He told me there are flats for rent but I know the US authorities still didn't allow him to work at least to support himself there, he could only do part-time campus teaching work but it's holidays now so he's stuck! Any help or ideas would be very welcome! (Or even just give him a virtual hug - it's also good!)

Know yourself... then find your goal (and motive).

Cease the opportunities. The faster the faster. Go outside and do.

According to Sun T<u, you need to make your people/staff (inner: emotions, energy) fight at the chosen time, like a floodpower of a dammed river unleashed ready to fall into a descending emptiness.

Preparation is the key. The better qualified, lit, measured, proven your preparation is, the more known is the result of it unleashed.
