I have heard about Adyashanti and enjoyed listening to some of his videos on youtube, but don't know very much about him. I hadn't heard of the new book but now that you've brought it to my attention I will look it up. |

The beauty of Adyashanti's teachings is that they are more important than he is. He is a realized/awakened being whose name was Greg. His teacher told him, after he had a series of profound experiences with awakening that he needed to teach and she retired in 1996. He started out with just a few students and he's steadily had more people come to listen to him. I've been to Sat Sang with him about a dozen times now and one of the things I've found amazing is that when I try to concentrate on his face everything around him starts to move and fade and the room begins to become brighter as if someone had turned up the lights slowly. |

Not to assert that “I am right” (the ego just love it!), but Adya was given the birth name of Steven Gray. You might want to check out his entry on Wikipedia (Danger! Controled Mindspace!): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adyashanti for a little background. |

Check! Steven… I had another “senior moment” there. I do that lately. The point being that he (and we) really shouldn't get hung up on the names game. Adya is so gentle and kind about that… he uses his new name because it suits the role he plays now but he's not hung up on it. He makes no game about trying to forget that he was born in the USA and has a “history” which is rather normal. |
