zPro - Art @ Zaadz

First of all I would like to welcome all new members! I am really impressed about how many people are in this pod!

I have a zPro page and don't really know what to do with it and was wondering if I should open a zPro page for this pod. I mean a place where all members of this pod could present their art for sell …. I know I should have come up with something like this some months ago and not now so near at xmas time but well … I am a busy person too :-)

OK here's the deal: Every member could present one of its pieces of art with a link to their shop or website or blog or zaadz page …. and we could make something like a meditation garden and present our art online.

Soooooo? What do you think? I need  your “I'm in” or “not for me, thanks” kind of feedback and of course IDEAS & SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!

It is something I have been thinking about since I joined Zaads. Glad you have the werewithall to get it started. Let me know what I can do, to be of service.

I also guide people to do their healing through art….that aspect might be interesting as a side branch as well. Let's make it a page people can get totally lost in…luvin the idea.

I love the idea! I think there should also be  a day of the week where we all come together for this.  Almost like a ritual for our meditation garden!

Thank you for your feedback! Well I was really thinking about a place where people can have direct contact with art sellers. This pod is already meant to be an exchance platform :-)
Anyway, I will note the suggestion down and in some days put everything on a list and present it for final discussions :-)

Sounds like a grand idea and there seems to be enough interest to make it worth a go!

In fact, if there's anyway I can support your efforts Diana, let me know….I”d be willing to revamp my zPro page to support what you guys decide to do, as in to expand the space for others to direct attention to their work or outside pages.
Now that my Cultural Fusion is engaging some of the right folks on the sponsorship side, I'd like to start exploring how I can use my various CF spaces to create a space for like hearted/minded artist to share their work and dreams for more art-full living.

Hmm….perhaps a brainstorm session is needed? I know I'll start to ponder the possibilities.

I am an art student building up my skill and piling up my works. I am seeking the oppotunities to promote & sell. So, it would be nice to show my works to other people, maybe we could do like percially donation to some NPO for Xmas, and percially get my own? Whichever, I would like to be in too.! I'm in Japan, so I am not sure if somebody from overseas wanna buy it though….

The idea of a donation is great but I don't  think it will be ready for xmas … but perhaps for valentine's day :-) … I will note it down, thank you for your contribution.

It is good to hear.
I used to sell my works in eBay US, but I thought that because people don't want to spend for the international shipping fee, so they didn't buy. I hope there is a nice art collector or curator who don't care much about the postal fee…

I thought that you were thinking about posting and selling art for the holiday. If the season doesn't matter, I can send my works anytime regardless of donation or plain sells.

I'm in!  I've always wanted an art page!  It would be great to share one with everyone!  maybe the art could be divided into different category links like: abstract, figurative, spiritual, etc.  That way it would be easier to navigate.

And if an Artist sells a work of art trough this network ; The artist would have an option
to donate a percentage to ZaadZ. I personally would donate 30% of the selling price.

Yay! I'm in, just what we need… how proactive Diana… :)  let me know how i can help. i like Kelly's idea about the categories, and i also like Lightfields idea of donating a percentage to the sale to Zaadz…..  my house is now cluttered with paintings that need to be somewhere else. :)

Well, there's not such a system here yet but I have some ideas in mind … there are some nice stores on the web that could be useful to us … wait and see ;-)

To make things simple, I suggest simply a list (perhaps alphabetical) of artist [real or Zaadz name?], media, web site link, perhaps with a leading column of a thumbnail representative image of the art style.

e.g.,

[ image ]   Debra Jan Bibel/Lone Mountain  acrylic paintings   www.lonemountain-art.com

I am registered with various art directories…..but I have received feedback only from Zaadsters!

Same here. I pay for some artist website, but I haven't sold any. I have posted my works to blogger showing to my friends and classmates, but other than that I don't get any response, but from zaadz members.

Hi Debra,

This is exactly what I was thinking of for a start. Indeed a simple way of representing the artist here at zaadz. The only thing that bothers me is for those who don't have a website like yours (your wesite and art really rocks!) . We will have to be making links to a certain directory of their photo album I suggest … or I have some other places twhere they could even make their own gallery for not a cent …. this will be the second part of our mission. The how.

This weekend i will put a list of first participants together and all the ideas we had and I will post it on this pod again with some new questions and reflection :-) So keep an eye open and thank you all for your interest!!! i think we are enough to start a new idea, so let's do it!

I would love to join in. i dont have a business or anything, but for people like me there is a place thats free that you can put your art/work on. deviantart.com has a great network and can do prints if you want to. is that the kind of thing your looking for?

I really like the idea of building cyber art communities.
and I second a few of the notions above, too

- Forming some sort of regular cycle of gathering/interaction. I think there is a lot to be said about finding some sort of rhythm that gives more traction to community efforts.

- Inviting critique and inquiry is a great way for artists to expand each other's skills and vision. But it will help to have some sort of way of talking about the “rules of play.” Artists are often a sensitive lot…I suggest forming some sort of community “touchstones” for reference, as a way to create shared values and intentions, as well as functional agreements and what i often call “style notes” …as a way to help keep the soulful insights from getting lost in linear conversations, and keep the whole effort from possibly disintegrating into some post-modern funk.

- Whether it is a conference call, or just a chatroom, any way to add some LIVE aspect will enhance the group experience very much. Static linear hypertext only conveys so much. Which points back to the cyclic idea. A monthly podcast, for example.

I'm in:) There are great possibilities with this kind of thing these days. The world is starving for creativity(even if us artists aren't!) If done extremely well, I envision a website that could actually convey the feeling one has when walking through a garden, like you mentioned.  I've always got lots of ideas and would love to be involved in making something like this all that it possibly can be.
