  Keith : ashtangi

Since no one else has started this, I'm game . . .

I'm Keith and I teach ashtanga.  I was learning back in 2000 from a teacher, whom I'm still friends with, that had studied with Beryl Bender Birch when there were a few classes she asked me to sub.  She said I was a natural and “got it” automatically was the only reason she felt okay letting me teach for her, so I did, and fell in love.  I went to study with Nancy Gilgoff in Hawaii intending on it being because guruji was stopping there for a week on a tour in 2002 (the pics I took are posted on ashtanga.com) but I ended up learning more than ever from Nancy.  It was quite an experience for me.  So now, I finally feel like I should be teaching, that I have something to offer the practice and my students.  After loosing a part time job this past July I kept getting offers to teach and am now doing it full time and making a living at it.  I feel like I'm finally coming into my own as a teacher and a practitioner and just a spiritual being.  We're finally organizing some satsangs and kirtans in the area and its great.   Namaste all,  Keith
