I have Mercury in Capricorn too - retrograde - in the 8th house! My feeling is that this gives me a lot of depth in my communication, as well as an ability to read between the lines. I'm not sure I've felt particularly misunderstood. I suppose having Mercury in sextile with the 10th house Pisces Moon helps, especially when it comes to communicating emotions.

Yes, that's absolutely right. You've definitely described Mutual Reception. I don't recall the details of your chart but other planets in Gemini ruled by Mercury and Taurus ruled by Venus would also be influenced by this Dynamic.

I wonder about my way of communication and Mercury's placement here.
My experience has been that I am quite often misunderstood, by way of words or body language. My written expression is something I enjoy and can be creative with; stories; poetry etc. The written form is my most 'eloquent' and is rarely misunderstood.

What does this mean on earth? Please help me. No, I think I know... but I don't know until I say it. It seems to me as I speak the words come and the meaning connects. Abstract thoughts take form and I seem to be able to roll them out fairly effortlessly. I'm not sure if this is just Mercuries positioning. Is this what this positioning is about?

I am also under this influence! :) "The big picture" ... I just call it 'gestalt' ... LOL... actually the "not paying attention to details" is covered by the capricorn aspects! I can dream the BIG DREAMS thanks to this aspect of my chart!
