Blogging - the Authentic way to promote yourselfJasper said Sep 17, 2008, 2:55 PM: |

Hey everyone, I have just started up Dude, Blog Your Business with a friend of mine and if you have a business or a book you want to promote check out our website at http://dudeblogyourbusiness and if we can help some fellow Gaians then all the better. Blogging is the way to go these days, and video blogging is certainly going to be the future. What makes blogging great is that it is a conversation - it is a two-way dynamic whereas a website is static. Its all about social media marketing, networking, and what makes it work is authenticity. You can't fake it - you have to be open an honest - that's what I love about the medium. There are probably lots of people out there doing just what you are doing - what makes your business different? You. You establish your authority, a sense of trust, someone always ready to answer your questions. People like to buy from someone they know and trust, and a blog can establish that much more than a website can. If you would like to to show you how I would always be happy to hear from you. cheers, Jasper

That's what I always tell people is the challenge of blogging: presenting good information, but doing it in an authentic, charismatic way. Getting that conversation started is tough… just because you're posting things doesn't mean floods of comments will follow. You've usually got to put in a good 6 months or so of blogging with little return before you build that two-way conversation. |
