While Bill is mentioning Wilber -he did it some years ago during World Economic Forum first - he is putting Krugman, David Brooks and Tom Friedman first.

Bills Genghis Khan fantasy at the end of the interview is most fascinating for me. Moving through time and space without beeing evil:):) Sounds like a poltical Google version.

Now he should have understood Robert Kaplans articles and books in a deeper way.

However, as master of compartmentalization, he will probably keep dreaming and fundraising....and wanting to make the whole world his friend..

And this reflects the olds saying that campaigning is poetry and doing the job is prosa.

its damn tough job. Its focused on crisis managment for the next time. The same as in Europe and elsewhere.

So NOW is the moment to meshwork and convert conversations which matter to action with impact. With sustainable impact. And clear responsibilties.

Lectures have to be learned and mastered as much in top down clusters AS in grassroots. Anew form of evolutionary poltical intelligence which does not confuse spirituality and natural design. Poltical pragmatism and idealism. Stratified cultural realties and impulses of Utopia. Not about THE SHIFT but diverse transitions and transformation in most complex settings.

Foreign policy questions alway reflect something about the center of gravity in the cultures and societies.

Taking only Afghanistan, Pakistan and Middle East shows how weak most approaches are. And prayers of change are in no way sufficient.

We have become the world's abusive, irrational father ... YES

Time for the pendulum to swing to the other direction ... SO BE IT

I suppose my addition above has to do more with Foreign Relations than with Policy, very indirectly of course. But felt it important to demonstrate the type of individual we have chosen as our next leader. Very important. He is not fiddling while Rome burns. This is a "roll up the sleeves and find something helpful to accomplish" soul.

One of our former presidents, Teddy Roosevelt, is famously quoted that the US [Foreign Policy] should be "Speak softly and carry a big stick", with the phrase originally coming from West Africa. The US has used this philosophy over the ensuing years time and time again.

Foreign Policy of the present US administration (and perhaps several previous administrations as well) utilizes Preemptive War or Preemptive Strike, i.e., striking an enemy in anticipation of a future conflict or waging war to gain strategic advantage.

From a purely materialistic perspective, this makes sense. Global oil reserves dwindling? No problem!!!! Simply take over an oil-rich nation!!!

There are problems with this policy, however, not the least being that on a gut level . . . it simply feels "wrong". Then there are the legal ramifications.

On a practical, day-to-day level, the policy has been found to be polarizing . . .

... "The Bush doctrine is angry, irrational, immoral, and merciless."

And it does not take a brain surgeon to see what kind of atmosphere this type of doctrine engenders . . .

The culture of fear is not a spontaneous reaction by the public to a truly dangerous world. The worldwide anthrax panic sparked by a handful of anthrax-related deaths in America shortly after 9/11 was not caused by a genuine and widespread mortal danger facing US and European citizens. Our propensity to panic about everything from child abductions to mobile phones does not come from the fact that modern life contains more risks than ever before - on the level of everyday reality, the opposite is the case.

The culture of fear comes from the top down. It comes from society's leaders, and their inability to lead.

Picture, if you will, an angry father who has just punished you . . . for something you haven't done! You may have "thought" about acting, but you never did. How would your family life be after this? Would you not live in constant fear that the next "thought" may send him over the edge again?

Executing a vision in the midst of burning fire is ONE part of the real challenge.

Not for the fainthearted.....

We must do the same job. No matter what our talents, amount ot accountibility, responsibiltiy and capability is.

Its not about dreaming about singularity and 2012 and Maya Calendar..

Its about ACTION NOW!

IN the context of Obama's team apparently taking on a hawkish attitude to the world, WE MUST continue to remember Obama's words ...

"What we are going to do is combine experience with fresh thinking"

as well as David Axelrod's recent confirmation that ...

"Mr. Obama was NOT looking for people to give him a vision. He's going to put together an administration of people who can effectuate his vision"

WE must take cogniscence of an appropriately applicable understanding of how important the acknowledgement of the concepts of Spiral Dynamics Integral are !

In the light of Janie's comment perhaps the children's ambassador should be Dr. Suzuki. She could then become "the fourth woman" to join with Hilary Clinton, Cherie Blair and Julia Hauserman, to be selected by Barack Obama, with George Bush's blessing if appropriate, as envoys to speak with the Peoples Republic of China about the Tibet issue.

A child representative to advise these ambassadors, would indeed be perfect and in accordance with the same values of responsible ACTION requested, of our global leaders, by Severin Suzuki in her address to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit.

Children's involvement:

When the Obama administration adds a children's ambassador to it's cabinet, and a child representative to advise that ambassador, it will be just about perfect. The children will inherit this earth and the peace movement they deserve should be created and started by them with a song sung in every language all over the world.

As we have elections in 2009 in UK and Germany we can now focus on developing momentum for emerging new European leadership.

This Leadership is abolutely necessary in power, vision, leverage, strategic imagination and valaues based change for Europe as it is for the world in toto.

We cannot leave it to chosen leaders in poltics.

Citizen Power at the cutting edge is now a historic call to push Europe to new frontiers of its evolution.

Overcoming the very bad Venus/Mars analogies between US and Europe.

BUT in the context of Barack Obama's selection of Hilary Clinton as Secretary of State elect, IT IS NOW Barack Obama's first ACTION of RESPONSIBILITY, during the transition period, to DO a great deal more to move his foriegn policy agenda forward, by collectively utilising ALL the RIGHT CONNECTIONS between Bill Clinton's and Tony Blair's "charity set", as well as Don Beck's consultancy group, to provide Hilary Clinton & Cherie Blair with a focus to collaborate with Julia Hausermann to bring to the attention of The Peoples Republic of China, their avowed intent to come in line with the objectives of Rights and Humanities Priciples of Responsibility.
