  Vesta : Spiritual Alchemist

SixDegrees and American Cancer Society

Vesta said Jan 18, 2008, 8:17 AM:

I'm pretty new here & still trying to find my way around.

A couple weeks ago I received an email from Network for Good (and SixDegrees.com) about this new challenge - the badge with the most individual unique donations will have $50,000 donated to their charity. This is HUGE. I immediately created a badge for the American Cancer Society.

See it here –> http://www.networkforgood.org/pca/Badge.aspx?BadgeId=109196 <– Then click on “Watch my Video” directly about the Donate button (and please donate, too!)

Why do I do this?  It's simple, really.  I don't want anybody else I love to fall victim to cancer.  I had just barely turned 17 years old when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She had a radical mastectomy on her 40th birthday.  Today she is a 25 year cancer survivor
and my inspiration.  Since her diagnosis, I've had many other loved ones receive the
dreaded news that they had cancer - my kids' godfather, schoolmates, my cousin's young
daughter, dear friends, neighbors, and my uncle.  Many of them have won their battle and
are currently in remission.  Some of them are still waging their own personal war against
it.  And some of them lost their lives to it.  All of them have been inspirational to me
and their brave fights continue to spur me on in my fundraising endeavors.  I am
determined to be a part of finding the cure.

Please, join me.  Donate.  And feel free to copy and send this to everybody you know.  Together, we can help find a cure.

Thank you.
