I'm getting on a bit, being a relic of the '60's , But over the years I've watched the evolutionary processes at work and  have noticed the changes in peoples values and beliefs, particularly among the young.  One section of society is growing more towards the spiritual side of life, while the other is finding more sophisticated and effecient ways to kill. (” The Quickening.”)
I've not read the “Celestine Prophecies” I've never felt the need to, Having learned so much already in my years of travel and observations. It is as the Ancients foretold, we are reaching a point in our cycle where we must abandon the pursuit of science and materialism,and take the path of spirit, or all will be destroyed. The signs are already evident in that,our search for material wealth and comforts, are rapidly destroying our environment, we have nowhere to go. Except  Within. Perhaps, spaceships will leave the Earth carrying a few scientists , but you and I will not be invited . the cargo will be test tubes .We are expendable.
So therefore, the only place left fpr us to go, is Within.
Books such as “The Celestine Prophecies” do not come about by mistake, the light is being poured into this dimesion at this time to help us in our need. Our friends in the ether see our plight and our need ,and are attempting to show us a way out.
I have found a wayin/out that has proved very beneficial, in the years I have made use of it, it can be found at www.falundafa.org, NOT a religion , But a WAY. it's totally free, and is about self help. a road to inner space, peace of mind and good health.
