Hi Sandy! I am sorry for the lack of replies..I wish this pod was a lot more active, but that is up to the members. What were your specific questions about the second book? I listened to The Secret of Shambhala while traveling last week and I must say it was the icing on the cake or even the last straw. For months I have been looking into pH levels of the body... long story but the point is to get to the bottom of some health issues. Boy have I learned a lot!! The latest Redfield book confirmed/reaffirmed that I am on the right path. I thought back to What the Bleep do We Know? and recalled that awesome part of the film where Dr. Emoto's water research is highlighted. It's all the same isn't it? How many more times do we have to hear it to get it? I say "we" and I mean collectively, our society. Of course our thoughts matter. Of course our attitudes make a difference in the world. Of course we are capable of soooo much more than what the majority admits to. But for me (as in Redfield's book) the food we consume must be of high quality. That's the only way we can feel the energy. We also must detoxify as much as we can in order to reach that awesome awareness. We, as a society, prefer to be a bit numbed. We numb ourselves through drugs (legal/illegal, prescription/non, nicotine/caffiene/sugar), through food (overeating, eating the wrong things), through emersion in distractions such as tending to children or others in general, through work, we numb ourselves by submitting our brains to the fear based programming of most of our broadcast stations on television, etc. (you see where i am going with this). BUT, when we clear our bodies even a little bit, we are able to recognize our energy fields, we are able to consciously extend our prayer fields, we are able to recognize the synchronicity in our everyday events. If we "buy" what the media is saying about how awful the world is, we are unable to see the beauty and unwilling to extend ourselves to the stranger on the streets.

This is the part where even I feel like I am concocting a "conspiracy theory" but I need to share that I feel like there are people who do not want us to attain that higher state of consciousness. If we would only take better care of ourselves (through eating only good foods, exercising, changing thought patterns) and turn off the tv we would be better able to experience all of what Redfield has so eloquently said in his "fiction". I, for one, want to be a part of the next stage in conscious evolution. I also want to inspire others to see what I see, feel what I feel and think what I think.

Talk about coincidences. I awakened thinking about James Redfield and a book he coauthored, God and the Evolving Universe. My thought was that we're at the threshold of a quantum leap forward. I typed "James Redfield" in my Google search engine and saw James Redfield, under which was the Zaadz address.

I read The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. In the back of the book, Redfield, an astrologer, offered to make an audio tape of my inner makeup for $25. I sent him the money and he sent me the tape. Unimpressed, I filed his tape and didn't give it another thought until after I'd been writing my memoirs for a year, and had gotten in closer touch with who I am and what I'm about. I played his tape again and was astounded. A year of mind search put me on the wave length of our future.

Redfield's analysis of me seems to be an analysis of we Zaadzsters.

"We are going to take a look at two key aspects of your astrological data, your Sun sign and your Moon sign. "We are going to talk about them archetypically. The emotional issue is pointed out by your Moon sign-how this feels as you go through life-talk about your Sun sign-again archetypically-how you naturally uplift people, to give you some good information as you try to find out what your spiritual mission is."

"We have a new image of what it means to be a human being, how to think of ourselves as growing, evaluating, understanding, that we can connect with our God-self energy. You grow in a Virgo way. Virgo is that part of us that is oriented toward conscientious work. At first unconsciously-and everyone has a different way of reacting-the object is to bring into consciousness the reactions and determine whether or not the reaction is mature or immature-when we can step back and look at our higher self, when need becomes strength."

"The Virgo ego integration with the higher self, and the higher self perspective is going to be defined along the lines of the Virgo archetype, which is, of course, our need for organization: to be effective, to be conscientious about making things better."

"We all start at immature levels of ego functions. We have a sense of security based on how much we feel in charge of our lives. We want to keep the idea that things are going fine. We have goals we want to achieve. We need to manipulate things to keep everything just right. We need to keep this allusion for security purposes. If new information comes in, we can act defensively. We don't want information that rocks the boat."

"What happens is that this allusion, based on security control, has to shift to our inner connection, our God-self force that gives us a sense of well being no matter what's going on out there. We have to make that opening on the inside."

"As you get in touch with your inner energy and start to get in touch with your higher self, you will be guided into how to find that true work expression. It will be shown to you intuitively. This becomes the way you uplift everyone who comes into your life. When you evolve into your higher self you energize those who cross your path. This becomes your greatest talent."

Redfield's Ninth Insight matches numerology's ninth and final step in reality creation, when we become selfless; when we have a love for all; when we desire to apply our energy to universal service. Redfield's Tenth Insight connects with his First Insight, according to numerology, the beginning of a new cycle.

Our thinking here at Zaadz links with a greater truth: we are all connected with the consciousness responsible for the "Big Bang" to the forming of galaxies. The latest science has us "co-equals in the foundry of creation," says quantum physicist Even Harris Walker. We observers interact with matter. "Consciousness, the substance of this new-found reality that defines the obserer, has fundamental existence. It is the quantum mind that is the basic reality." In other words, created in the image of God, our conscious awareness is taking us to our next step in the evolving universe.

Reverend C. I. Scofield wrote in the Introduction to The Scofield Reference Bible (America's most popular), "The Dispensations are distinguished, exhibiting the majestic, progressive order of divine dealings of God with humanity, ‘the increasing purpose,' which runs through and links together the ages, from the beginning of the life of man to the end in eternity." Biologist Julian Huxley, in his essay, The Future of Man, pointed out that "Man's exploration and control of external nature has outdone his exploration and control of his own nature."

Astrologer Jean Avery in The Rising Sign, speaking of my Aquarius rising sign: "He becomes the water-bearer (the symbol of Aquarius) by walking to the the beat of a different drummer. . . He is the forerunner in setting style, discovering new methods, and showing the rest of humanity the way. He may be expecially enlightened, metaphysical, scientific, and inventive."

Avery wrote that I'm a chance-taker. She got that right. I took a chance and won. I'm associated here with a group, paraphrasing Avery, who knows where the fruit grows and is willing to go out on a limb for it. I'm thrilled that I found Zaadz.

While, I agree that the writing lacked some aspects of a traditional "great writer" the book is hands down the only book I have read that incorporates all of the aspects of sociology and basic human understanding in such a simple manor. I was extremely excited when I discovered this book because it can be read by anyone and expresses ideas that maybe someone of lower intellect would certainly miss otherwise. As far as the child-like plot, I enjoyed the adventures that our main charactor went through and put myself in his shoes.

Think about it, wouldn't it be nice to introduce spirituality and things of that sort to a teenager or a friend that is not all too interested in reading? That is why I covet James Redfield's simple word usage and plot. I find it all too difficult to explain these matters without sounding pretentious and long-winded usually.

Book Review that I blogged awhile back.

Book: I was ready to forgive the awkward transitions, insipid subplots, limited vocabulary, switching from first to third person etc. Why you ask? The nine "insights" are actually, I think, a brilliant take on sociology. They give new light to the ways human beings instinctively compete with each other, and some great ideas about how to overcome this.
So great were these insights that supplemental text's have been published about how to grasp them personally and incorporate them into your own life. Why this author decided to wrap this in a painfully childish adventure story will forever be beyond me.

However, having completed the journey it's now apparent to me that the insights, alpha to omega, are, at their core, Determinism. (A lesser form of Fatalism) I'm not a Determinist and this book has lead me no closer to it. Those of you who are, you guys will love the tie in's to Christianity and the idea of the emerging spiritual culture. If you're like me this won't impress you so much, but you still might appreciate the ideas this book contains. It's really not very long; it only took me so long to read because my enthusiasm was curbed by the aforementioned shortcomings. But as a book says, pains must be taken to acknowledge the messages that are constantly being sent to us.

Upon reading that chapter, I had to do my own analysis. In my blog I did a two part process. First analyzing my parents and thier characteristics/perspectives, and the next entry elaborates on what that's made of me and how to phrase my "path" or whatever they called it.
Here's what I came up with...

"I must learn to let myself be affected, and then discover the reason for being affected, and the purpose of what affects me. Then determinately seek the fulfillment of that purpose."

Co-incidences that brought me the books...

Hi All

It was a series of strange events that brought me and a lovely Canadian guy together in Paris in 1995 when we were both travelling. These events and the many things we discovered we had in common prompted him to ask me if I'd read the Celestine Prophesy.

I read it when I eventually got back home to Oz, and I've read it about 4 times since then. Some parts were like reading something I already knew but had forgotten and others put into words other things I'd felt but never told anyone else.

I'm really trying to remember to use the insights all the time but I get so distracted by life!

Looking forward to discussing the books and insights on each discussion board.
