Think of the world as one household. The house is small, the income fixed, and they cannot move. The family already has a child, and cannot feed another, and yet they think of having another child. Adopters Are Heroic

Ocean said Mar 17, 2007, 9:59 AM:

It's so wonderful to hear of adoptions taking place!
Whether by the great celebrities who choose to adopt or by ordinary people, or even just the average person who adopts from afar - sending money to help a needy child in another continent.
We need to applaud these people more!
They're heroic, kind, wonderful people who deserve salutes!

i was adopted at one month old. my mother, since that day has inspired me to do the same, and i shall keep the fortune of these experiences with me always. i encourage everyone to think of all the kids already in this world.

namaste ocean, your message reaches me with great  energy.

I'm so happy to read your message, Vince!
And i'm so happy that you were among the very, very lucky ones who, orphaned, were taken and merged spiritually, soulfully, wonderfully, into a loving home.
It's so gratifying to hear about our too often unsung heroes and heroines - those who put the welfare of a helpless, homeless, love-starved child before their own selfish desires to breed.

I propose that an entire holiday be established called Adopters' Day, to applaud and to celebrate the kindness of people who really practice their spirituality by adopting a needy child!

well my aunt used to say to me “everyday offers millions of oppurtunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations”. for someone or an animal  who needs help, you or i can be that oppurtunity. in the blink of an eye, through cause and condition, a persons life condition can change from hell to buddha, if only for just a moment. in a world where the forces of death are challenging the forces of life for every inch of ground, inspiring others  through example is a very worthy path.
