So why is it, that our world is so slow in taking action to save our planet from pollution?

1. Corporate and multi-national greed at all costs.

2. Greed of the wealthiest 1 or 2% in the U.S. at all costs.

3. Corruption of Republicans and Democrats because of massive election funding by corporate interests (particularly those corporations who stand to lose if environmental laws tightened up - coal, cars, oil, asbestos, agri-business, etc.).

4. Huge ultra-right wing conservative media machine pushing anti-climate change agenda (among other things).

5. George W. Bush putting his corporate, polluting pals or their lawyers or lobbyists in key environmental positions and putting environmental law back 30 years.

Sources:

Robert F.

The great eco-prophets of our time, Al Gore in the U.S. and Dr. David Suzuki in Canada have spent their entire adult lives trying to get people to understand the science behind and the catastrophic dangers of climate change.

In spite of what must at times be wearying work, decade after decade, and "mad-eyed from stating the obvious", these ethical, dedicated, and hard working men, continue year after year to wander North America and sometimes elsewhere in the world to get their point across.

I came to the Zaadz website specifically to avoid the sheer numbers on some sites of unthinking climate change skeptics, as they were sucking away my energy and time. I was drawn to the site for the positive energy and goodwill and desire of most Zaadists to change the world for the better. Most recently, I simply do not have the kind of mental wellness I need to deal with unthinking skeptics.

You do not need to wait for some great teacher to tell you what this is about. The tools are all readily available for you to learn about this on your own if you are open to do so. The person who started this site and this particular discussion site has evolved and moved further forward to other types of questions. I hope you will, too, as this is not a place I can stay.

Madeleine:

People buy car, life, house insurance, as protection for events that cannot be foretold. It would be irresponsible and imprudent if they did not.

Similarly, the scientific consensus is that the impacts of climate change are already being felt and will only get worse, unless substantive changes are made to the way we are living our lives. But even if sufficient changes are made now, it will take many years before it positively impacts and reduces the threat of climate change.

This year, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is a body of scientists and researchers, under the sponsorship of the United Nations Environment Programme and the World Meteorological Association, are putting out Climate Change 2007, a report in four parts which can be read on their website (although I believe the fourth section will not go up until after it is approved and adopted in November in Spain). Type IPCC into Google and you can have a look at the massiveness of the report yourself. The first of the four parts is nearly 1000 pages long and I lost count (or patience) tallying up the number of scientists, researchers and peer-reviewers of that section of the report because there were so many. The Climate Change 2007 report represents a consensus in thinking among hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of scientists worldwide.

Climate change has been in the minds of scientists and other thinkers off and on since the early 1800s.

The only proviso I hear about the report is that, as governments were involved in pressuring the panel to remove certain words or phrases that would have made the report even stronger than it already is. Some people believe the report is somewhat too conservative about the risks involved in climate change.

I think it has been conservatively stated that Arctic ice would possibly not be melting until the end of this century or into the next century. I have certainly noticed the increased frequency in which reports on the ice melting much faster than scientists have thought possible. And when that happens there is less white snow or ice to reflect the heat of the sun, and the dark oceans absorb more of the heat of the sun. This is called a "positive feedback", which unfortunately is a very, very bad thing.

It will not take much in the way of temperatures rising for ice to continue melting at an unimagined pace.

I have seen An Inconvenient Truth and I have read stacks of books and have stacks more I want to read on climate change and related issues.

Anyone who does not yet viscerally feel the threat of climate change on the future of life on earth, has not come to the stage where they know enough about it.

We would be fools not to take this threat extremely seriously. There will be serious flooding when the Arctic ice melts and that will result in millions of climate change refugee to join the many refugees that already exist because of war and conflict.

ICE-FREE ARCTIC ON THE HORIZON?

According to a recent Guardian story, the Arctic ice cap has collapsed at an unprecedented rate this summer and sea ice levels are now at record lows.

As the article explains, "Experts said they were "stunned" by the loss of ice, with an area almost twice as big as Britain disappearing in the last week alone. So much ice has melted this summer that the north-west passage across the top of Canada is fully navigable, and observers say the north-east passage along Russia's Arctic coast could open later this month. If the increased rate of melting continues, the summertime Arctic could be totally free of ice by 2030."

The loss of sea ice will not only threaten polar bears, other mammals and sea life, but could also accelerate global warming, since white ice deflects heat, and darker-colored waters absorb more heat.

(P.S. The above article came to me in a newsletter via email from Stop Global Warming.org )

As a Canadian, because a number of countries, who know realize the importance of an ice free north-west shipping passage, are questioning Canada's soveriegnty there, this is something of concern. In addition, climate change is not a future event. It is already happening. The Inuit in northern Canada have roads and villages built on permafrost which remains frozen. However, the permafrost is thawing, which means a shorter season for the roads to the north, and that villages built on permafrost are under threat by climate change. In fact, I have seen pictures of one village which was abandoned because it was starting to fall into the ocean because of the permafrost thawing.

Inuit people are traditional hunters, and the animals they depend on are losing their habitat, as ice is an important part of it.

The Inuit warn us that they are the canaries in the mines. What is happening to their lives and the habitat of animals in the north will happen to us if we don't get a move on it. 2030 is not that far away, and at the rate the ice is melting and the rate at which industrialized countries are moving (like snails), I would not be at all surprised to see the ice melt even faster than that.

I have posts on many sites and have joined many climate change related pods because I am committed to doing as much as I can, as the mother of two boys, to see that there is still a habitable earth for them and their families to live on in the future.

Businesses, organizations, schools, individuals are not doing enough yet to save the earth and its inhabitants. Outside of the time I spend at work, my present includes hours and hours of time trying to talk with people - live or through discussions in sites such as this one - to share what I have learned to get people to understand what is at stake is not some vague future prospect. It is already here and more damage is yet to be done.

Here are the first four lines of a poem by Richard Wilbur, an American poet, called Advice to a Poet. (I quote it in full in an earlier post in this thread - a beautiful, visionary and gripping poem.)

When you come, as you soon must, to the streets of our city,
Mad-eyed from stating the obvious,
Not proclaiming our fall but begging us
In God's name to have self pity....

The reason it is not hard to see the future of climate change is because it is already here now.

I think Hurricane Katrina was an example of the kind of unequal impact climate change will have on the poor.

If you have not seen An Inconvenient Truth, I would strongly urge you to see it with family and friends.

Dryad
Forest Guardian

Here is a visionary poem from the American poet, Richard Wilburn, born in 1921. Since he mentions weapons in the poem, I imagine he meant to talk about some apocalyptic future after nuclear bombs were used in a war. I suppose it would be a good peace poem.

However, if you think of it as a general warning about what will happen to humankind and the natural world, particularly when people have been warning us for years of the consequences, and we have done too little about it, then perhaps you will find, as I do, several parts of the poem truly gripping.

ADVICE TO A PROPHET

When you come, as you soon must, to the streets of our city,
Mad-eyed from stating the obvious,
Not proclaiming our fall but begging us
In God's name to have self-pity,

Spare us all word of the weapons, their force and range,
The long numbers that rocket the mind;
Our slow, unreckoning hearts will be left behind,
Unable to fear what is too strange.

Nor shall you scare us with talk of the death of the race.
How should we dream of this place without us?--
The sun mere fire, the leaves untroubled about us,
A stone look on the stone's face?

Speak of the world's own change. Though we cannot conceive
Of an undreamt thing, we know to our cost
How the dreamt cloud crumbles, the vines are blackened by frost
How the view alters. We could believe,

If you told us so, that the white-tailed deer will slip
Into perfect shade, grown perfectly shy,
The lark avoid the reaches of our eye,
The jack-pine lose its knuckled grip

On the cold ledge, and every torrent burn
As Xanthus once, its gliding trout
Stunned in a twinkling. What should we be without
The dolphin's arc, the dove's return.

These things in which we have seen ourselves and spoken?
Ask us, prophet, how we shall call
Our natures forth when that live tongue is all
Dispelled, that glass obscured or broken

In which we have said the rose of our love and the clean
Horse of our courage, in which beheld
The singing locust of the soul unshelled,
And all we mean or wish to mean.

Ask us, ask us whether with the worldless rose
Our hearts shall fail us; come demanding
Whether there shall be lofty or long standing
When the bronze annals of the oak-tree close.

1959, 1961

These two lines from the poem remind me both of the book The World Without Us by Alan Weisman and, particularly the first line, of what the skeptics are always saying, although in much less eloquent language:

Nor shall you scare us with talk of the death of the race.
How should we dream of this place without us?--

And why the environmentalists who have been warning us for so many years to little avail, have not gone "mad-eyed from stating the obvious, not proclaiming our fall but begging us in God's name to have self-pity" is a credit to their decades of commitment and resilience.

Philosophers and scientists have been thinking about climate change and global warming for many years, even before the phenomenon had a name and many years before there was sufficient scientific evidence to back up their ideas. Google (or otherwise look into) the names: Joseph Fourier, John Tyndall, Svante Arrhenius, Arbid Hogbom, T.C. Chamberlin, Knut Angstrom, E.O. Hulburt, Guy Stewart Callendar, Lewis D. Caplan, Gilbert N. Plass, Hans Seuss, Roger Revelle, Bert Bolin, Erik Eriksson, Mikhail Budyko, Charles David Keeling, Helmut Landsburg.... Or to save time, just Google Arrhenius - which takes you back to 1896.

Just because most people have not known about climate change until relatively recently doesn't mean some visionary thinkers haven't been thinking about the issue for a very long time. We have had warnings many decades ago.

The future does not exist. We can think about it,we can dream but it is not here.

The present, that's what's count. In the present moment we can have projects,we can prepare

all kinds of maps,we can think about realisation of things we like so much.

But the future? it's too difficult. We know we can't predict it.

The climate would not be my priority.Things might or might not happen.

It's just maybe or maybe not.

In my humble opinion we must enrich our minds, give a hand where the suffering

is today and hope......and dare.,

Namaste,
Madeleine
t

Some words about the supposed impossibility of foreseeing the future.

I am driving a car. There are break lights ahead. I am not sure what will happen if I do not put on the breaks. Will I stop in time? Will I skid off the road? Will I wait too long, stop and then have the car behind me crash into me? Will the car in front of me start moving again quickly enough so I will not run into it.

I cannot foretell the future in this scenario, but if I am a prudent person, I would be cautious and start to slow down, in order to be prepared for what would happen.

I have read, but don't ask me where, another writer talk about what else we prepare for in our lives, even though we cannot foretell what exactly may occur in the future. If you keep reading about climate change, etc., you will no doubt bump into it yourself.

Just because you cannot tell 100% which of the many dire things could happen, if we all think nothing will happen until the end of this century or into the next when we will not be alive, doesn't mean that there are we can ignore the signs pointing the way towards unprecedented and possibly catastrophic events.

You may not be aware that because scientists are generally cautious people and because of the intervention of governments in the wording of the final IPCC Climate Change 2007 report, which you can see online (all but part 4 which will be approved and adopted in Spain in November), that words and phrases were removed from the report that would have made the warning stronger than it is now.

In fact, try going to Ontario's climate modelling for Ontario) and see what the temperature difference in northeastern Ontario in the worst case scenario and what kind of rise in temperature is possible there. The website is the government of Ontario's gogreenontario site. Well, I'll tell you. The temperature changes are more severe and dramatic the more north you get. The scientists are saying here that the rise in northeastern Ontario could be as much as 10-11 degrees (which is many, many degrees warmer than further south in the province).

I also read an article from a blog or pod somewhere just today - here or on another website, or newsletter I get (I'm more chemically imbalanced at the moment than usual), about the ice in the Arctic. Every week or so there seems to be yet another article about the ice in the Arctic. This last article says because of whichever bit of ice they mention in the article (sorry, I just don't remember), that this is happening much quicker than they think (they do keep saying that, maybe we just don't listen).

In fact, this leads to the probability that there will be no ice in the summertime in the Arctic by 2030. The article also mentioned that as early as (next summer?) the Arctic passage would be clear for ship traffic and that sometime after that the northern Arctic passage would also be open for ship traffic. (As a Canadian I pay attention to that, because there have already been other mumblings from other countries saying they don't recognize Canadian sovereignty over the north.

Now if the scientists are giving us time frames which are getting so much closer to the present - you may think 2030 is a lot of time, but earlier reports the skeptics have scoffed at were mentioning the end of the century or into the first part of the next century.

I can't say I have always thought climate change the biggest priority. In fact, I always had human rights at the top because of letter writing I do for Amnesty International and later I added child poverty (when I started to sponsor four boys 8, 9, 10, 11, in Armenia, through World Vision) and lastly I joined Greenpeace. However, though I think Greenpeace does important things, the histrionic methods they use are just not my cup of tea. I now have as well a membership with the David Suzuki Foundation, which has many more suggestions about what I can do to help with climate change.

However, it was only a co-worker who gave me An Inconvenient Truth to read and who started a Green Committee at work, that I started to read books and visit websites and start learning about climate change and related topics. It didn't take long before I viscerally felt the possibly catastrophic consequences for my children and any children or grandchildren they may have.

"No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.

If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

--John Donne, 1623, from "Devotions Upon Emergent Occasions"

It doesn't matter what opinions you may have about what is causing global warming. I assume you're not a scientist, and I am not either.

Hundreds of scientists, sponsored by the United Nations and the World Meteorological Association have been looking into the cause of climate change over the past many years. It's 4th report, written and vetted by hundreds of the worlds best scientists says that not only is climate change, "unequivocal" but it is also "anthropogenic" (caused by humans). This group of scientists is called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. You can even go to their website and try to read through some of the executive summaries. It is tough going in a lot of spots as the scientists sure like their jargon.

I do not believe it possible that such a group of scientists has overlooked anything in what naturally can or is affecting earth in coming to its decision about what is causing climate change.

At this point, so late in the day, metaphorically speaking, it is a little late to be discussing opinions about climate change when the scientists have provided us with facts, via much research over the years.

It would be much more fruitful to talk instead of what everyone needs to be doing now to help stop global warming. Individuals, business, organizations, governments all have their parts to play in this. I have read enough to get quite panicky about what the earth may be like in the future for my sons when they have families of their own. Scientists are often quite cautious in making projections into the future. I understand they are often conservative then in what they will project (say the range of warming or when the ice caps will melt, etc.)

I am doing as much as I can, at home, at work, and in contacting government representatives and companies, to reduce my carbon footprint and to get others to think about it, too. I now get all my electricity from Blue Frog Power, which provides 100% green electricity to Ontario or Alberta, if individuals so choose. It does cost a little more, but I am putting my money where my mouth is: Global warming is already here, the effects if nothing is done will be catastrophic, and as a mother, I cannot sit back and wonder about whether the earth will even be habitable when my sons are men with children of their own.

I also have four other "sponsored sons" through World Vision in Armenia. The four boys are younger than my sons. I also wish the best for those boys and their families when they grow up. It will be much harder for poor countries or families to adapt to global warming, So North America and other fortunate countries must get their own act together and then assist poorer countries to do the same thing. It is totally irresponsible if we do not.

Dryad

      Hey Trine!
Thanx for your thoughts, i totally agree that humanity is behaving counter productive by being mentally stuck, starting from the wrong place which causes us to disrupt the natural ecology.

What i mean with supplying the world with electro-magnetic energy, which was invented by Nicola Tesla, has nothing to do with electronics in the way that we know it. You know, everything has an electro-magnetic energy-body: people, stones, the earth. And Tesla invented through this knowledge different ways to bring forth electricity that doesn't cost anything for the consumer and doesn't pollute the earth. To give you an example, check out: http://www.pbs.org/tesla/ where is shown that Tesla could hold a light bulb in his hand letting the energy he created going through his body without any problems!

The only reason that we are polluting the earth for over hundred years with e.g. nuclear energy & cars that drive on fuels, is that big companies have made the work of Tesla fall into the unknown, hidden far away from humanity. Happily in communities like Zaadz we are rediscovering knowledge like this, i hope sincerely that we will change the world with sharing all this information as is happening now!

OK, see you around on Zaadz and thanks again for your thoughts, it' always very nice to experience that there are more people on this planet sincerely involved in evolution!

So why is it, that our world is so slow in taking action to save our planet from pollution?

Why is a huge country like USA not respecting the Kyoto-agreement? Why are we so confused of what is really going on in the world, about our climate, about our Earth? Why is it, that a genius like Nicola Tesla, who found ways in the 19 hundreds to distribute the world with all the energy we can imagine in an ecological way and for free?

Simply, because of money and power. Yes, yes, always the same answer! The people who have all the money and power want to keep it that way. Letting the world know that our planet has reached a serious state of danger is not going to make business but panic.

Providing the world with electro-magnetic ways of energy for life (for electricity, transport, etc) is not good for business for it costs almost nothing to supply it to the whole world. The consumers all over the world (that's us!) would receive energy almost for free. This is not a fairytale. It would 'un-slave' a whole planet from the monopoly and tyranny of these few companies and governments. And worse, it would make the people of this world conscious that this is going on for a long time now. Imagine the disaster for oil-companies for example, if it would get out to the world that transport, build with the true inventions of Tesla, would cost almost nothing plus without pollution of our planet? Maybe our whole money-system would crash down, do you see the link?

You have a choice, and yes, for this choice you maybe have to go through some inconvenience in the beginning. Let's not wait until all is lost for us and our children, the solutions are within our reach, screaming to be listened at and acted upon.

What would happen, if every person on this planet could be reached, with the real information of what is going on, about our planet, about our energy supplies, about what and who a human being really is and so together we can create? The world would start to wake up and mobilize themselves all together. People would start to boycott these monopolies, people would start to invent real and green solutions. It would be the end of these companies who just care about money and power.

So hereby, another call for action. Time is pressing. How much more signs do you need that pollution of our planet is REAL, that most of us who are 'fortunate' enough are contributing and consuming these ways of life that pollute every day, while sustainable and durable solutions are out there? Find it, co-create it, refuse to live like slaves in this system! Work together, change this world!

When you start to reach deep into the true information that's recently available in our world, you will find, as i did, the most amazing realities. Where genius people like Tesla got killed or to whom big companies made their work unavailable, where driving a car and polluting the world at the same time is ridiculous while other solutions are there for the taking. Where on top of it all, our planet is in a tilting/shifting situation, like she does every 13.000 years when the north pole is becoming the south, and visa versa.

There's a whole world out there that most of us don't know about, and it is our own responsibility to find it. Responsibility means the ability to respond to reality!

Thank you.
Please do not hesitate to reach me here on Zaadz for more information.

Sincerely,
Joeske

I wonder if somebody already has said anything about this, but i'm convinced that the climate changes are mostly due to the fact that the magnetic poles of our planet are rapidly tilting on their axis.

As Drunvalo Melchizedek refers to in his book "The ancient secret of the Flower of Life", 1993, (see 'my favorite books' in my Zaadz-account, or see 'my blog' for more websites/info), our magnetic poles are shifting at a point that they will tilt the Earth from spinning in the way she does now. This means that when the magnetic poles are changing as they do and in this rate, our physical poles will revers themselves: the North will become our South and vice versa. This phenomena has occurred to our planet much more often, and there's found proof in studies of ancient lava beds that indeed the Earth changes it's poles around every 13.000 years. And we've come to the moment that this is happening again and RIGHT NOW!

I know this sounds extreme when you first hear of this info, but with the detailed and scientific explanations that go with it, it becomes obvious that this is truly what's happening. There's so much more to say about this, so if you are interested or just want more info, please contact me here at Zaadz.

Sincerely,
a Bodhisattva living in Montpellier

I really appreciate the summary and input about my original statements...I've got to agree with them 100%...!!! We need to see the reality of "why we are here" in its simplest form...The Bible says unless we become "like a child" etc.,. Trusting and believing we have purpose and value in ourselves and of course the value in all others...(which is probably more important in my estimations/guesstimations...)...

The only thing is: the Bible doesn't hide this...it states that God said "let there be light" (on page #one) and we know that the sub-atomic particles of all matter (once split ) ...these "building-blocks of all matter" release energy in the same form...(even though these particles are as different as snow flakes...) the form is "light"...

And...because "God said" and we are "created in His image" whatever we "say" (believing) because the Bible also says "from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks"... we can have it...even a world of love...

I just wonder why no Divine intervention has been made to stop the oppressors of Mankind and the Earth I call "human predators"...or...Maybe this is another aspect to our real reason of being...to correct humanity of it's weakest links and most dangerous adversaries..."human predators"...and... "enviromental abusers of mass scale"...Perhaps they are and have been; the same thoughtless, self-serving, non-humane entities all along..."The Elite" unaccountable to anyone, any moral, any law......

I think if you see a real problem...you should try to correct it...and if you see real evil you should try to stop it...and if you see a storm of global proportions about to occur...you should get ready...Although the "Age of Aquarius" is preferable...very few tornadoes plow the farmer's fields for them...

What can we do...or is it going to be a situation of "wishing we had "acted?!?

Suggestions?!?

I promise to do my part...

I also wanted to throw this very rare video into the mix: (it gets took down all the time... so see it while you can...it took a long time to get it in one piece...etc.,.)
ALTERNATIVE #THREE (MARS) http://www.dark-truth.org/nov222006-2-science-report-alternative-3.html

skyman

although i and many scientists beleive that the Kyoto Protocol is not enough, and realistically we need to cut (canada) our emissions by about 25-30%, not a mere 6% as propsed by the protocol, and the US, i believe... 15%?? anyways, if the real meaning behind the mayan calender prediction is not an "end" to civilization, but perhaps an end to the way of thought, and non-ethical practices towards the environment-then maybe some more attention should be paid to such issues, as the Kyoto agreement is asking for these cuts in green house gasses to take place by 2012.

i thought this may be of intrest:

a little while ago, a lovely lady among my myspacer friends posted a bulletin about a sun spot resulting in a gravitational pull that would allow 48 of the more southern hemispherical states to see the Aurora Borelias.

i will post her bulletin closer to the end of this, as it has it has alot of information and should be understood on it own, prior to my communicating this idea.

so, just quickly; "Every eleventh year or so, we have something called solar maximum - which is when the number of sunspots peak. The more sunspots, the more solar particles are ejected out into deep space and thus more auroras occur on Earth. A result of this is that the Aurora oval covers a larger area of Earth, and at some years one might even see it in Mexico. The latest solar maximum was in 2001; therefore the next will occur in 2011 or 2012." (http://www.northern-lights.no/active/readQA?Q=4456)

another site that is researching this information, but i doubt their credibility, due to a crappy alien graphic the fact that the people that run the site are trying to prove the existance of aliens and their studing solar max's which are said to occur every 65 million years, said to have contributed to the wiping out of dinosaurs (i'm not even listing them as a reference because their arguements are absolutely inane oppinions upon fact).

however, they have done some research, and that research dictates:

~ "There will be three eclipses that occur in June 2011, causing geomagnetic effects "

~..."says the result of 4 factors coinciding will cause the Earth's magnetic field to collapse and reverse, and the "resulting earthquake and volcano activity bringing about the end of our civilization by the end of 2012." A new ice-age would probably follow, due to a global temperature drop as volcanic ash cuts out sunlight. "

seems a tad presumptious. but none the less, being the nerd i am, i read Discover monthly and have been reading about something that not too many people are aware exist. the "oort cloud".

"The Oort Cloud was first theorized in 1950 by the Dutch astronomer Jan Oort. After studying comets with very long orbital periods, he concluded that a large "cloud" of comets existed far outside the solar system, possibly within the range of 5 trillion to 8 trillion kilometers from the Sun. It is believed that the objects within this cloud are occasionally ejected by collisions with one another or by the gravitational forces of stars."

this was once just a theory. However, now that astronomers are finding "planet-sized" debris about 5 trillion miles past pluto. it's speculated that these debris left over from when the sun was created. Infact, sometimes, due to gravitational pull from the sun ( a large star) particles are pulled into our galaxy and into the sun. Essentially, the oort cloud is a massive comet belt around our solar system. Further on; the writer suggests that this may infact be where the meteors that shaped earth as we know it came from originally.

Given this information; i'm going to hypothesize. I really admire mayan civilization.

-they calculated the exact duration of a year to a thousandth of a decimal point

-they were able to predict every solar and lunar eclipse until this day.

-they knew where the galactic equinox and the exact middle of the Milky Way lay

-they predicted in what year their civilization would be overrun by foreigners coming from over the seas

-they've even predicted world wars

Due to their calendar and time keeping being so advanced and accurate, it's no suprise when people get freaked out once they have the knowledge that the mayan calendar abruptly stops at 12/21/2012 AD.

There are two theories here; one (the most basic) is that the world will simply end. Most likely due to the above information, it seems to be quite a violent end. And in a way, suitible for a world that holds physical possesions so dear; that they would be destroyed to leave nothing behind. The mayans based their years in five lumps of time. After each lump, something would engulf the earth." For example, after period number one, a Jaguar came by and ate everyone on Earth. The second cycle ended in air, the third in fire, the fourth in flood. And what about the last period, the stretch of time we're in? The Earth will be destroyed by earthquakes." Meteor showers cause both earthquakes and volcanic eruptions; so with the informations looked at above, this is feasible.

The second theory; is a dawning of the age of aquarius.

Mayans had a circular concept of time; nothing actually had endings.

"The Sun will mount its unique position* to form a `gateway' between the Universe and the souls of every living creature on Earth. Our linear conception of time will crumble, and with it, fear and hatred will vanish. It will be purification at it's very best, when everyone is soaked in cosmic understanding and divine love."

*The Sun will sit precisely on the heavenly crossroads between the Milky Way and the galactic equinox, forming a perfect alignment with the center of the galaxy.

Basically the bible (with some major exagerations, that if true i hope i'm alive to see; with popcorn in hand) depicts a similar idea. The world will end in a storm of comets, resulting in many natural disasters (then followed bt angels and dragons http://www.exitmundi.nl/bijbel.htm), followed with a new way of thinking, life and love.

Well, perhaps both points are right. This is where i get hypothetical...maybe, the world is going to face alot of disasters in 2012. It seems as though this meteor shower will be inevitable (but holy jesus, it's gonna be pretty??!!), but maybe-just maybe- and this is a very hopeful, idealist view point. We see the light. Is it possible that all of the human race is able to see the brink of destruction and in that moment see how important our time is? We may weep over our ill placed feeling toward one another, our abuses on man kind, on animals, the environment and finally see what we were meant to do. Love.

We search the world, we search books for what our purpose is, why we are here--- we have even come so close to a romanticized proximity of the truth, which can be found in any romantic comedy; any romance novel, any 16 y/o's diary- our purpose is love. Not lust, not a complusion to own or materialize people as our possesions. The answer is within us. We are here to bask in each other's uniqueness. We are to love each other, fully and equally.

"THE CREATOR GATHERED ALL OF CREATION AND SAID; [I WANT TO HIDE SOMETHING FROM THE HUMANS UNTIL THEY ARE READY FOR IT. IT IS THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THEY CREATE THEIR OWN REALITY]...

...[GIVE IT TO ME], SAID THE BEAR. [I WILL TAKE IT INTO THE MOUNTAIN]

[NO], SAID THE CREATOR.[ONE DAY THEY WILL DIG INTO THE MOUNTAINS, AND THEY WILL FIND IT]

[GIVE IT TO ME], SAID THE EAGLE.[I WILL TAKE IT TO THE MOON. THEY WILL NEVER FIND IT].

[NO], SAID THE CREATOR. [ONE DAY THEY WILL GO TO THE MOON AND THEY WILL FIND IT, EVEN THERE].

...GRANDMOTHER MOLE ROSE...[PUT IT INSIDE THEM], SHE SAID.

[IT IS DONE], SAID THE CREATOR." --Gary Zukav, Soul Stories

---thank you for reading :) ------

Huge Sunspot Coming
4/25/06

An exceptionally large sunspot has appeared on our side of the sun. Sunspot 875 is already the size of the planet Neptune and is continuing to grow. It has a "beta gamma" magnetic field and presently harbors energy for M Class, or intermediate, solar flares.

The spot has appeared during the solar minimum, and the presence of such a large spot during a time of relative solar inactivity suggests that scientists predicting that the next solar maximum, due in 2011 and 2012, will be a very intense one, are likely to be correct. They have theorized that the next max was likely to start early, and be preceeded by an unsettled minimum

The current sunspot is not expected to cause X-Class solar flares, but that could change if it grows dramatically. Should this happen, there could be an unusual opportunity to observe auroras in the lower 48 states.

Well, further evidence that climate change is a reality...

walking the dogs this past week, I've noticed that pink clover is in bloom.

This is normally a phenomena of spring, but apparently our spring came so early this year, and the warmth lasted so long, that the seeds dropped in the spring have had time to flower.

Wierd and creepy. But still very pretty.
