A thought about adding content to threads

Buried treasure. Wasted wisdom. Have you ever read a thread on Gaia Community and wished it could be turned into a book or article and shared with the world, because so much wisdom was represented and presented there?

This pod/Group calls attention to, and honors, and shares, these threads. This pod/Group is a library (more than...(more) a forum for interactions among Members.) Like a library, we will accept probably all donations/contributions and keep them probably forever.

The ultimate purpose of this Group/Pod is the upliftment of all, of the world, through providing greater visibility for and access to and sharing of the wisdom, perspectives, and information available from our Community, so this wisdom can find its way into greater expression/usefulness in the co-creation of our Better World.

Nearly everyone faces the classic issues of life: raising children, dealing with death and relationship endings, seeking one’s own spirituality, coping with fears, pondering hatred and peace, exploring what love really means. And Community Members always wonder: What is this site really about? Where is it coming from?

Wouldn’t it be helpful to hear from maybe over a dozen folks about their experiences and the insights they’ve gained? That’s the kind of wisdom available in this living Library.

How is wisdom defined? It is more than information, more than theory, more than ideas. Here are some ingredients of wisdom as I see it, to help guide you in selecting threads:

knowledge,

understanding,

compassion,

acceptance of diversity,

seeing different perspectives,

results of personal trial-and-error

based on personal experiences in life

PLUS

practical, useful, real-world information,

guidelines for action, etc.

Please understand the How Tos and Guidelines before you post/enter/contribute/add any thread. See the How it Works Board. In sum,anyone can contribute to this library (by posting a link to) any pod/group discussion thread, or blog with comments, that you see as containing Collective Wisdom.

I am looking for another Moderator or two, to share the fun/work here. Please volunteer!!!!!

This pod is completely open to modification and co-creation, so please email the Cultivator with ideas, contributions, suggestions, for the way the pod might be improved!!!! Or post these in the How It Works Board.

I don’t know where this will go. The future might hold a bigger destiny for our Collective Wisdom. Greater minds than I are pondering these possibilities.

But for now, you can call attention to any thread you have run across that you think is worth people’s time, and which demonstrates the power of our collective wisdom, and offers a significant resource for many people. Go for it!!!!

Hey, when you join Collective Wisdom do remember to get onto Notifications for new posts to this pod/Group, so you can keep track of new posts very easily. Notifications are in the “Settings” section, link displayed in upper right all site pages.

If you are looking for wisdom on a particular topic, like parenting, grief, love, peace, etc. you will probably have pretty good luck putting some words (perhaps one at a time) into the “search this group” field, upper right of pages. The “tags” we make up for the threads are not themselves links, but they provide fodder for the search function.

I chose it to represent Collective Wisdom: dark and light and many shades, each individual section lovely in itself, yet woven together and even beyond being woven: adding up to a single coherent Beauty, a whole, a Something. Like a good Thread.

Hi OM,

I wondered about something. What if one of the blogs / threads we post here, is deleted because the member leaves or deletes the blog/pod? It does happen, and it would be a shame to lose the wisdom.

Suggestion:
What if we post a summary of the discussion; perhaps even some of the comments? It could be done after the initial post, if we don't have time to do it then.

Ouch ! Never thought about that. My first response is I am reluctant to “summarize” as that doesn't do justice, and how to pick which comments???? Especially as some of what's here is active and growing.

Will ponder. Thanks for thinking about this potential !!!! It might have to be that we would just “lose the wisdom.”

Of course, the ideal would be for the person about to leave to notify us and allow us to copy the whole. :)

And people who delete blog entries in their entirety probably don't want them referred to anywhere else.

I guess members here will have to be alert to any links that no longer work, and let me know.

All of the above is not just blogs; pods can be deleted too, and then those links would no longer work.

I think it's just an occupational hazard of a library like this that refers to other folk's content.

Will ponder. Open to any further suggestions from anyone !!!!!
