MARRIAGE IS CREATING

~KES said Mar 24, 2007, 5:00 AM:

My philosophy is that living is an artform. We are always manifesting change in a relationship and with our children carving and painting for the betterment of mankind. I feel families and relationships are the glue of the world.

When someone begins on that arrangement called marriage, he is getting into something which is, to say the least, adventurous. When a couple gets married, they are doing something they know nothing about.

Marriage is the foundation of the family unit. in this society and time, the family is the closest knit, self-perpetuating, self-protecting unit. It is necessary economically and otherwise in the society the way it is set up in present time. A culture will go by the boards if its basic building block, the family, is removed as a valid building block. So one can be fairly sure that he who destroys marriage destroys the civilization.

The marriage relationship, basically, is a postulated relationship. A postulate is a conclusion, decision or resolution about something. When people stop postulating a marriage, it ceases to exist. You have to continue to create it. And a family which doesn’t continue to create itself as a family will cease to exist. That’s about all you need to know about it. When marriage breaks down, both parties have to be willing to fix things. They loved once…and can again as they had things when they first met and decided to make it go right. However, if both aren't willing, it is good to come clean separately and move on to the next partner. Don't expect the next one to take the place. It is a new canvas, a new painting with two brushes creating into the new future.

Wow I never thought of marriage as an art.  I'd come to see that it could be so! I don't want to start off on a new canvas :(
