Contemplation & Beyond

Some of us believe that contemplation is the keystone of an integrated life consisting of work and/or other meaningful activity, an ongoing relationship with God (however you may define God), and relating effectively with others: friends, family, co-workers and others in your community and in the world.

In addition to being a forum for discussing the above...(more)

Meditation / Prayer Circle

Ecumenicist said Feb 18, 11:28 AM:

I’ve suggested this before, I’d like to try it if we could get some interest.  I’d like some of us to try to pray / meditate at the same time, and then maybe discuss what thoughts may have been in our hearts during the week following.

I’ll just throw out a suggestion, I’m on Eastern time, how about

Sunday night at 10:30 EST?  That would be 7:30 on the west coast.  Or, suggest another time.

I think it would be an experience worth trying, and could foster some meaningful discussion.

thanx,

Hello Dave. Sorry for the delay - the notification must not be working for new msgs. and then was away - returning tonight. I am open to this idea. The challenge for me is that my life and schedule is so eclectic that I could not guarantee consistent participation. My prayer times are in the morning and then right before I go to bed at night. I’m in mountain time. If our group had a strong enough connection, we could (I think) choose a day (say Sunday’s at any time) and intend in our prayer/meditation time to connect with the Contemplation & Beyond Circle and this (I think) could work. If others are interested and we think this might work, I’d say to email and let us know - yeah or nay and if Sunday’s might work. There would be no commitment if something else came up. Then with a list of possible participants we could intend at the beginning of our prayer/meditation time to connect to those who wish to participate. A circle of sorts could begin to be created this way. Then, as Dave mentioned, sharing could occur as each are called throughout that next week on what is arising. Are we on a similar page Dave? Do you think this could work? I could commit to a Sunday if it were not a specific time. Or we try narrowing it down a little to Sunday morning (a span of time anywhere up to noon in your part of the world). ?? What do you think? We could try it for a month and then re-assess?

Hi Jane,
I’ve been pretty busy myself, sorry for the delayed answer.
We are on the exact same page, thankyou!
Sunday morning is perfect, and I agree, any time is fine, I’ll
probably try for 9:00 AM Eastern if anyone farther west wants
to meditate at the same physical time.

take care,

Dave
