Contemplation & Beyond

Some of us believe that contemplation is the keystone of an integrated life consisting of work and/or other meaningful activity, an ongoing relationship with God (however you may define God), and relating effectively with others: friends, family, co-workers and others in your community and in the world.

In addition to being a forum for discussing the above...(more)

Na'ameste',
My name is iljung and my iljung is Chinese/Korean for “sound one hand”.
Contemplation, for me, is an endless checking-in that the inner me and the outer me are in harmony. It becomes the sound one hand when the checking-in is the inner and outer me. I check the chi of the food, herbs, crystals, postures, words, sounds, actions I want are the chi of who/what I am.
I cannot change the past. I cannot know the future. The present is gone before the sensations reach my grokking. So I grow endorphins and smiles and breath and compassion and interaction and intaking and outmaking senselessly, endlessly, wonderfully.

Now when I let go I fly instead of fall.

My latest discovery, after dancing dhikr for the first time in years, is that I can “re-produce” the love of the dance and the chi flow from my partners by interlocking my fingers, holding my hands below my dan tien and walk/sit/lie anywhere.

Find a way to dance with others and with yourself.

in peace, love and harmony
iljung

Welcome to Contemplation & Beyond! I liked your description of contemplation - an endless checking-in that the inner me and the outer me are in harmony.

And dhikr! I have danced dhikr many times, but it has been a couple of years. I had such deep experiences of Unity.

Blessings,

Jayne
