Cook it. Go.

The corporatizing of food and water supplies is driving prices of basic necessities through the roof. Whatever! I want to do something about it!

Here's what on my list:

Hit the farmers markets and see what's out there cheap.
Learn about canning (again).
Figure out how to grow my own herbs while living in the middle...(more)

Help with making yogurt

Crystallized said May 26, 2007, 1:21 PM:

I've decided I want to try to make yogurt at home. The REST of my class made it in biology for a lab, but I wasn't there. :( Anyways, I found out my mom has a yogurt maker, but I have no idea where the instructions are, and It's been a while since she's used it. Are the yogurt makers usually only incubators, or do they do all the work? Do you have to heat/cool the milk/ yogurt to exact temperatures? I was planning on making it from pre-made yogurt.

Any help would be much appreciated!
