Cook it. Go.

The corporatizing of food and water supplies is driving prices of basic necessities through the roof. Whatever! I want to do something about it!

Here's what on my list:

Hit the farmers markets and see what's out there cheap.
Learn about canning (again).
Figure out how to grow my own herbs while living in the middle...(more)

A future for Cook it. Go.

Dear Members,

I'm posting this here, rather than a mass email, which I just am not very fond of.

I'm interested in continuing the great stuff that I see as a potential for this group, and it's little corner of contribution to Zaadz, and all that stands for.

I received some difficult personal news a few weeks ago. And the hits kept coming. During this period I've not really followed up with my own group, and yet today I look and see that the foundation lain has gathered it's 97th member. That 100-member barrier is something I never thought possible, yet here we are!

The activity here isn't as great as some of the other food groups, and that's cool with me. The focus of this group is the neutral zone. It's about practicality, not necessarily principle. If you are a part of Zaadz, you don't need to prove your principles so much in here, you just have to take a risk and cook something at your house.

If you, or anyone you know on Zaadz is interested in helping manage this group, I'd love to hear from you. My troubles are going to be around for a while, and I don't have the time I'd like to dedicate to managing all this stuff. Merge-friendly zaadzters welcome!

For what it is, and what it can be, I ask your help, dear members. Bring me administrators, Is, that the group may live on!!!

In the mean time, take care of yourselves and your loved ones,

Tenarrows

I like it that all are welcome here, including the somewhat omnivorous.

And I wish you the best in dealing with all the things that life is throwing at you right now. If there's anything we can do to help you cope, perhaps even help you laugh, please let us know.

Kelly

Dear Kelly,

Thank you for your support so many months ago. It's carried me a long way. And I'm proud to say…

I'm back.

Thank you all you damn zaadzsters out there that stuck with it.

I've started a new thread, hopefully explaining myself, and hopefully starting a new dialogue in the group. Financial constraints are about to hit us all this summer, especially with the price of food. This pod could not be more topical about how to manage this reality. Let's get to it. Do it yourself, and feed everyone cheap.

I hope that this pod will expand into a section on gardening, growing things outside of the mansanto bubble, and good ol fashioned agrarian common sense. Horse poop, fertile seeds, and good sun, I tell ya! I may start a new pod on urban food production, but for now, this pod is about how to maximize resources to feed loved ones, and that 's it. When you go to the store, or the market, or the fruiteria or whatever, buy what you need to get what you need. That's what this pod is about.

Holy cow it's good to be back.
