Paper-Making, etc.

Hi, I'm Cindy, and fairly new to this pod, but excited to see all the creative ideas floating around.

I'm an artist, and pretty much a self-starter (which is good, because I live on an island, pretty isolated from art and artists) but it's nice to hear that others are working through the same things.

Some of my art can be viewed at www.islandarts.net. Also, I just posted a blog on the how-to's of basic paper-making, in case anyone is interested.

Peace!

Welcome, Cindy –

I enjoyed your site. Your work is lovely!

Papermaking is so much fun. I used to work for a woman who made all kinds of handmade paper using elements from Southwestern culture – red clay, blue corn, chile peppers. I adore paper with tasty bits of flowers and things in it. :-)

Thanks for the nice welcome. Yes, I love putting lots of goodies in my hand-made papers. I'm often torn between whether to put an item (banana peel, orange rind, etc) in the compost bin - to benefit the garden - or into the freezer, to eventually end up in my paper!
