Web Design

I'm in the midst of getting a CIW Certification (Certified Internet Webmaster), a fancy name for designing and maintaining web sites. The thing about it, is the process is very creative. In the various software programs, I find myself creating like an artist, even to the mixing and using of custom colors, almost like holding a palette in hand, and the monitor is the canvas. I find very original ideas and inspirations coming to me. As things progress I hope to design very original one of a kind web sites to share.

Hi, Gary - I’m glad you posted this. I think there’s so much amazing creativity going on with web design. And the exciting part of it, for me, is that on the web, design takes on a new richness. Because not only do you need to have colors and typefaces and such, you have to weave in all the intangible elements that make a good user experience.

I was just looking at the Webby Award nominees this morning. Lots of really inspiring stuff.

Good career move, too - you’ll be in demand! :-)
