If you're considering joining us, here's how the Creativity Swap works:

- At the start of each month, you'll be assigned a partner. I'll send you their name, email adresss/Zaadz profile, and mailing address. And they will receive yours.

- You and your partner have the rest of the month to create something for each other. It can be anything at all, so long as it fits into a 6x9 envelope for mailing.
(Some posibilities: bookmarks, recipe cards, jewelry, zines, blank books, quilt blocks, artist trading cards, postcards, fabric bags -- on and on!)

- By the swap deadline, you just need to mail your partner's package out.

- When you receive your package from your partner, then you can post a picture of what you received on the Creativity Swap Flickr Group. It's located at http://www.flickr.com/groups/creative_spirit_swap/.

- Or, if you don't have a digita camera, you can always post on the Creativity Swap thread, describing what you received.

This is a monthly swap, so you can participate in as many or as few months as you like. Just message me if you need to sit a month out, and message me when you're ready to return.

So . . . just message me to join!

OK, everyone, we are 16 people strong for the August swap! You now have until Monday, August 28th to send something wonderful to your partner. Have fun making.

I can't find a way to get photos into these pod threads, so I made us a photo group on Flickr so we can share pictures of what we all made and received in July.

You can find it at:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/creative_spirit_swap/

If you're unfamiliar with Flickr, you'll just need to set up a free account there, and then you can upload your photos. Feel free to email me if you need help.

Thanks for participating, everyone!
DG

Thanks for the nice welcome. Yes, I love putting lots of goodies in my hand-made papers. I'm often torn between whether to put an item (banana peel, orange rind, etc) in the compost bin - to benefit the garden - or into the freezer, to eventually end up in my paper!

      Welcome, Cindy --

I enjoyed your site. Your work is lovely!

Papermaking is so much fun. I used to work for a woman who made all kinds of handmade paper using elements from Southwestern culture -- red clay, blue corn, chile peppers. I adore paper with tasty bits of flowers and things in it. :-)

Hi, I'm Cindy, and fairly new to this pod, but excited to see all the creative ideas floating around.

I'm an artist, and pretty much a self-starter (which is good, because I live on an island, pretty isolated from art and artists) but it's nice to hear that others are working through the same things.

Some of my art can be viewed at www.islandarts.net. Also, I just posted a blog on the how-to's of basic paper-making, in case anyone is interested.

Peace!

OK, so we're twelve people strong for July. Everyone has their partner information, and it's time to get making!

The deadline for sending mail to your partner is Monday, July 31st.

If you'd like to sign up for the August swap, the deadline is Monday, July 24th.

(If you're in the July swap and want to stay in for August, you don't have to do a thing -- I'll add your name to August unless you ask me not to.)

When you get your delightful pieces of mailed creativity, it would be lovely if you shared pictures here, and posted your thoughts.

Happy Swapping,
DG
