Reading Like a Writer, by Francine Prose

The aptly named Ms. Prose does a wonderful job of bringing writing alive in this book dedicated to teaching writers how to gain inspiration from those who know how to do it best.  She freely shares insight and wisdom into the rich art of a well-crafted sentance and a precisely chosen word.  The book is a pleasure to read and inspired me to bring my own writing to a new level of elegance.
