Tiki Music (Really . . .)

Perhaps not the most ethereal stuff in the world, to some minds, but I get a lot of juice from listening to Tiki music while I make things.

(For the uninitiated, this is the oeurve of Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman, Don Tiki, and others.)

It’s transportive stuff – possibly because it evokes a lush, tropical world that’s often in contrast to my home of Portland, OR. I think it’s also just a little silly, and so helps me not to take my making too serously, thereby suffocating it. :-)
