Truly Bad Writing Assignment Instructions

Write for 15 minutes, in the worst possible way you can, I mean really really awful. See original comment where this was suggested here - have a look at the link.

Post your response on a new thread in this board.

An additional way to support this wonderful work is to write a short list of the things you think your writing is, or your worst fears about it.. eg:

My writing is boring
My writing is too sentimental
My writing goes nowhere
I don't have any grammar or spelling skills
I don't know enough to write anything
My writing is stereotypical
My writing has no worth, doesn't help the world

etc etc.
Then choose one, and write in the manner of whatever it is you have chosen, eg, if you think your writing is boring, write, for 15 minutes, the MOST boring piece you can imagine. Really go for it…

etc.

perhaps the worst thing I will do

seeing
the child within me dangling her feet
diping the m into the pool of possibility
watching the toes di within the rainbow hues

lyric
rhythm change
let's see
fifteen minutes
God bles you all



I sit here
next to a stne fireplace
curled in my advancing years
wanting
to take
to feel
to cradle
the child that
was me
come herar
dear one
sit with me
i will wrap you within my arms
i will soothe your brow
I will take
that lank and perspired hair
from yhoru forehaead
and I will soothe it back
I will take the wrinkles from
your brow
before wrinkles should have set
I will take your hand
and take you to the stream
amnd we will peer into the clear stream
and laugh
and laugh
and alugh
We will alugh and we will hold hands
in our innocense
cand we will celebrate
Dear child
do you hear me
hear with my eyes closed against the night?
do you hear me type
that what I cannot see?
Do you see
me take
your hand
take your hand
and give you life
I blow upon tomorrow as it
is bigger than yesterday

Oh very cheeky, Surface!! Made me laugh. Yes, I should add 'can't follow instructions' to the possibilities of what an inner critic could be telling us!!

The only thing is I feel your poem deserves 'proper' comments, and therefore needs to be reposted as a 'new thread'. Can you do this? I can't, it will look like I wrote it. As soon as you repost, I'll comment ( tee hee!)

I laughed at myself when I'm advised to write whatever i get in my mind,not because i have got nothing in my mind it's because words don't help me out to express my ideas and convert them into words and sentences. Yet, I'm confident to write anything, boring, sentimental  and so on that comes into my mind, as far as you are there to help me out commenting, suggesting with a big laugh. Thank you

Yep this was such a relief to read.  The only thing is that I would probably be so nervous writing that I would accidently post in the wrong place.   I see now where I want to start…oh no but not here hee hee!

I wouldn't worry too much about posting in the wrong place. As long as you give the post its own thread we (moderators) can magically move it to where it would feel most at home.
