Introduction. :)

Catydid! said Dec 7, 2007, 2:07 PM:

I'm new to Zaadz, and new to DD.  I wanted to pop in and introduce myself.  I'm struck by the warmth and generosity of those who inhabit this little corner of cyberspace. I'm reading and finding myself nodding a lot and feeling right at home.

I'm almost 40, a mom with three teenaged boys, and adult daughter, and a tweeny step-daughter.  I work part time in a draining customer care position.  I am an active member of a coven in Toronto, Ontario (love paganism for what it's taught me about the sacred nature of my body, and the earth).  I'm a writer (have had some things published - poetry, erotica, and a few short personal essays), and an aspiring novelist.  I'm a loooooooong time diarist, but have found that this habit of journaling everything depletes the energy I have for 'actual' writing.  I'm struggling with the whole idea of productivity and creativity.  Do I have to be actually writing? Or is diary-keeping just as valid an art form?  Ladidadida…this is where my mind goes now and then.

I feel like the process I'm learning here is just what's needed in my writing life right now.

Thanks for having me. :)

The heartiest of DD welcomes to you, Catydid. Hope you continue nodding, as opposed to nodding off, by what you read here…and even more important, will share your own work with us. You're among friends.

Hey, a sister! Welcome in.
I think, what ever you write as long as you write, it's valid. To keep diary can be very powerfull source for future stories.
So, plese, fleel free to share whatever you want. We will be reading :o)

With love,
Nono

Thanks, Nono!  I do consider the diarist's writing as artful as any other kind.  I am branching out into fiction, personal essay, and reconnecting with my love for writing poetry, too!  It's all gorgeous. Words, nummy words!
