New Moderator - ClevelandX

I’m delighted to announce that Diving Deeper has a new moderator!

Please join me in welcoming ClevelandX (Randy Keefer). I know he’s going to be a wonderful addition, bringing his own particular intelligence and insight to the group.

I also want to remind everyone that Moderators are firstly members of DD, i.e. they are writers, and only secondly are they moderators. This means that above all else, everyone’s creative writing is the most important matter on DD. Sometimes I have to remind moderators (and myself) that we’re here to share our creative work, and sometimes I have to remind members to comment on moderator’s work as well as everyone else’s.

I imagine some of you will wonder how someone gets to be moderator on DD.I have to say, it’s almost purely an instinctual process on my part, combined with discussion with the other mods. If I tried to be logical about our latest addition, I might include the fact that Gaia has had so many changes recently that it’s taken a toll on many of us, particularly the mods. So, having some new energy is most welcome. Also, since Burt has left us, and since Jim is mostly away, the moderator group lacks a bit in the masculine department. Although CLX has not been a member of DD very long, I’ve enjoyed his presence, and basically the idea to ask him to be a moderator just  ‘flashed’ in, as it were. I’m very happy he said ‘yes’.

I am glad to hear that you have agreed to join the moderator team, ClevelandX/ Randy. Your sense of fun is something I have definitely been enjoying during an otherwise tumultuous period here (and personally). Look forward to more!

Unfortunately since I’ve become a Mod I have decided to sell my ‘sense of humor’ and purchase ‘fanatical religious zealot’.  I shall wander the boards of DD imposing my angry religious views on everyone.
With the religion I follow I have plenty of reason to be angry.

I put an ad in my local Classifieds for it.  Unfortunately ebay has strict rules about ‘selling pieces of yourself’ after that lady tried to sell one of her kidneys on there.
Price?  I’m open to offers.

Oh wait a minute! You are still in the process of selling it (your sense of humor). Good for you. It will sell at a record high. You have so much of it, you could offer it in several chunks. And you’ll see, it will grow back rapidly.

Welcome as new moderator here on DD, Randy/ClX. Thank you Sandra for acting on ‘the idea’ right away. And thank you ClX for taking on this role. Very fitting, indeed.

Being a moderator here on DD is very much my pleasure.

Sandra, I could always use an extra kidney, a back up just in case.  Of course there are other ways to get a kidney…how can I be sure it’s yours Sandra.

I do like Nell/Amazume’s idea of selling it off in chunks, kinda like the Berlin Wall after it came down.  Wonder if I could get some of my humor on display at the Smithsonian.

you do not question the followers of The Bolton for The Bolton will force you to his will with his manly chest and imposing hair.  His voice will melt your ears with its rich tones and insightful reflections on the relationships of love.
Should you ever question the truth of The Bolton he will reclaim the word “the” and you will be left with fewer sentence connectors.

CLX. you’ll know it’s my kidney because it’s been remarkably well used. This should pose you no cause for concern, however, as a used kidney is a much better bet than a fresh untried one. I can vouch that it has seen me through four acute pyelonephritis infections and two chronic ones. It survived with no palpable damage and is therefore of superior quality. Of course anything can happen and I do not part with my kidney with a guarantee as there are no guarantees despite arcane teachings of Swami Bolton.

CANDY MOUNTAIN! That is 3.46 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. I have to seriously reconsider my kidney offer. Besides which, how can I be sure your humour has not been diminished by piecemeal selling practises as suggested by Nell and, worse, unrestrained snatching by breatth and other wild members of Diving Deeper?

Swami Bolton. I did my usual slapdash eye flicking manoeuvre and misread what you wrote as IMPOSING CHEST HAIR. Now that I read said description correctly, my excitement has significantly waned. Is there any chance he can quickly develop some imposing chest hair?

Until then, no use of said sentence connector will be used by me in this thread unless it forms part of another word as in ‘weather’.

I can ensure without a doubt that my sense of humor is fully intact and whole.  It’s security is my utmost importance and the fact that my ‘day job’ is a Security Guard I feel confident it’s in good hands and well protected.  I do have to ask if the Kidney you are offering, Sandra, has a certificate of authenticity.

Ayla, we are not being silly, we are currently conducting serious matters of business surrounding Sandra’s Kidney and my currently for sale ‘sense of humor’.  You are welcome to join the proceedings.  Should you feel the need to partake I suggest you take a position at a distance from breathh, she us currently under security surveillancesurveilance (there are suspicions).

The Bolton is pleased with Sandra’s work on dislocating said sentence connector and will show his exuberance by fulfilling her request.

Regarding Swami Bolton’s chest hair, while I’m delighted he’s showing early promise, it’s not imposing enough. Perhaps it grows?

Let it be known that a slight lack of sentence connectors has proved no difficulty at all and, might I say, has quite possibly improved my writing.

Regarding authenticity of my kidney, see attached. However, I will say that Let’s Paint, Exercise and Eat Watermelon had me wet myself laughing. This is surely proof that my kidney is not only authentic but functioning at an exceptionally high level. I will have to transfer my laptop to a more suitable environment before I watch further.

As for Jack Wilder, my lips are sealed. Lets just pretend it never happened. While my faith in ClevelandX’s humour is somewhat restored, I have some niggling concerns about that of miss Ayla.

I shall sign off with a little favourite of my own: Eddy Izzard.

Your Certificate of Authenticity has proven effective and as of this moment there have been no other offers for my ‘sense of humor’ only attempted, yet failed, thefts of it.
So Sandra it appears that you are on the level and unless there are any other last minute bids then we can proceed with our exchange.

The Bolton can further grown his chest hair, should be see it.  For now it appears that belief in The Bolton is waning and as such he must conserve his energy to do battle with his nemeses, The Costner and The Banderes.  Though they may be formidable and possess exceptional chest hair The Bolton retains a quality that neither of them are able to match…..

For Ayla I present a recipe.  It will not help you with your Jack Wilder problem but it might help in moving you away from that flute you became attached to.

Given that further offers have not been forthcoming I am seriously reconsidering market value of said product. I’m wondering if I should, in fact, put my kidney up for auction instead as perhaps it is more valuable than I thought.

And while I agree that Swami Bolton has indeed expressed a certain quality here my own personal preference can be found here. I have had great good fortune to see Mr. Neville in his flesh, so to speak, and all things considered I’d wager he is more imposing altogether, chest hair or no chest hair.

Go ahead with your deal already ClX and Sandra. For everyone’s sake (not just Pete’s). Holding my heart here at the sight of so much gore and yet I have a strong sense that it will all work out in the end.

I could see down the road you two may be more forgiving toward those who are not so much into the morbid variety of humor so that neither of you need to resort to team up against fellow DD-ers and make them out to be lacking or missing anything. Not that its wrong, its just Truly Bad and therefor still hillarious to some and slightly annoying to others. Feels like I’m talking out of two heads? Well that’s what you get when you are a dragon(fly) lady. Even though I metamorphosed I still have these two heads arguing. They’re a riot.

Given your predilection for Banderas you might be able to help me out. I was never that keen on him until I saw him in a hilarious part (what film? I don’t remember!) where he was attesting ( in court? ) the, um, size of his, well you know. It’s a very funny scene. He insists, in his cute accent,  ”There have been complaints.” Do you know which film I’m referring to?

I’ve been known to beat a dead horse and then after the guy beating the horse has died someone comes along and beats him.  It’s my own problem and for that I apologize, no harm intended.

I do have one rebuttal at least in the area of singers goes.  I’m truthfully not a Michael Bolton fan, having a church dedicated in his honor was just too fun to pass up.  Aaron Neville is a great singer, I’ve always respected him but when it comes to music I’m very much a purist (not always but mostly so) my choice is Percy Sledge.

For the record I have no qualms about Banderes, he’s just so smooth.

For the record I don’t claim to be a Banderes fan, I just think he is getting hotter as he is aging, and let’s face it, he has always been easy on the eye. So, sorry not sure what movie you’re referring to, Sandra.

Just imagine the possibilities if you did listen to that song again, your ‘our’ song and see what arises, allow, let it pass through you, and then do 20 minutes of uncensured handwriting.
