wowza! what a fun little piece! you have inspired me to play around with my words a little more, especially when I am feeling stuck in the moment. which I guess is exactly where I would want to be "stuck" anyways....

Thank you, Jenny. I highly recommend this assignment to get you into the swing of things. Just do your best to write your worst. Surrender to badness, wholly and completely.

that is so true that anything can become interesting, thats what art is about right? we're all artists in one way or another.
that's what writing, and art should be about in itself, discovering rather than telling or showing.

LOL, that was so funny. Like a breath of fresh sunshine, yet some how dismal, in a comical way.
I loved the "wishing i knew how to skip stones instead of school," that is soo true. ;)
its strange what we say when we mean to say nothing, sometimes we say more.

Dear Sparrow,

Found myself very attracted by the catchy title of this piece. It turns out to be everything I hoped it would be and more.

what about stringing together rants and raves and random words
like bubbakibba bubbakibba book bird bum

This is poetry. The kind that wells from a sacred spring.

The whole piece reads like a song, rich and flowing with newness and timelessness.

If this is crap, Sparrow, I want it on a sandwich, please.

Wondering, wondering. The first masterpiece of English(?) literature I decide to read, determined to critique, having joined the pod a few minutes ago. (What was I thinking?)

Sensational was the first thought, funny, there is a theme... chaos and dispair mixed with determination and brute defiance. Learnt some new words. Is this an intimate insight into the female mind? Six things happening at once with just one keyboard as the outlet. Secret womens business?

Very entertaining, good read, emotionally alive - could feel the frustration as I read it. Definitely a sharing experience.

I love "donevencar" and believe that that should be added to the dictionary.

And I really, want to know why the I character doesn't like brown polyester... does it have to do with the UPS guys?!

I love reading your stuff so so so much. I usually buy a book based on the first page- if it grabs me, if it is funny or quirky or weird or I just love it. so I would buy your book sparrow, if i found it on the shelf with a really neat cover too. it would have a neat cover.

Wonderful stuff and amusing. There's a great sense of humour in the piece ... I loved it.

and she calls that lasagna made me really laugh.

Oh boy--watch out for what happens when you encourage me!!! I am so delighted that my little traipse through crazy land pleased you and watch out for more rubbish.

The brown polyester one is a toughy. Nasty first grade teacher--this one wouldn't be funny unless I dropped a heavy object on her. (hey, there's an idea...)

I was 'troolee' taken by what you call 'bad riting.' I mean, you took me right along on your trip through what is or isn't in the mind that wants to say witty and entertaining things, can't think of anything, and is both witty and entertaining anyway -- it's the journey that's important, more than the words, even more than the ideas. No I don't mean that exactly, I mean that when one doesn't stop the flow or try to guide it in a particular direction (even if one has a particular theme in mind, such as one of the exercises in the optional exercises archive), amazing things come out and that includes a sort of a package -- in a sense, the words, style, etc., choose themselves.

I am looking forward to reading more of your writing.

wonderful. funny. gripping and surprising.

I hear a voice in the writing, a unique voice coming through. I love what she does with language. she is very funny, but at the same time I get a sense that she has been to places nobody would volunteer going if they knew in advance... like she also knows about the dark side of the moon...
