WRITING PRACTICE: FRACTALS Fractals can be evocative! In their illuminated, shimmering and dancing complexity, fractals can take us deep into our interior world of images, memories, history, and they can send us ahead many light-years in time to visionary realms and possibilities. If you are feeling stuck, or need to get some quick ideas to play with, go find yourself a good video of fractals and take notes through a sequence of pictures. (Our FRAGMENTS practice is excellent for this.)
PRACTICE: I just posted a gorgeous sequence of FRACTAL images in my Happiness Blog, with some beautiful music. Go and start the video, and see if you can jot down a fragment, impression, or notation for each picture that comes up on the screen. You will be amazed at what personal images and thoughts arise for you. If one does not evoke anything for you (and go with your first impression, there is not time to think about this), move right on to the next. When you have done the sequence, and perhaps repeated it, then, as you have done with our FRAGMENTS exercise, make a piece out of it, and share! FRACTALS + FRAGMENTS=BEAUTY
