Breaking News in the Case of Her self

Synerjyz said May 23, 2007, 6:20 AM:

Her self, holding the empty shadow of her dream, begs for one more chance. The light in the courtroom is faint, casting her purpose in white outline, the details that once held her promise eclipsed by all that’s happened. No one can stop the whining and crying of Her self as she begins to throw her case upon the jury floor, desperate to see her dream live another day. Myrtle’s voice is heard above the crowd, “She’s had plenty of chances.” Deeply scorned in this remembering, the crowd of voices nod in their agreement as the judge reaches for the gavel. Her favorite committee member seated at the right hand bows in embarrassment for Her self and the public spanking sure to follow. All the other voices whisper incessantly behind the scene wishing to be heard. Her self, almost deaf from old age listening and blinded by the missing picture in her tiny frame, must look up to read the judges’ motion. But silence breaks her vision and the critical noise of the gavel suspends the verdict as her Self rises to take the floor. The hush is a welcomed reprieve in the presence of her huge, faultless Self. Everyone watches from behind the tinted glass, roped off by the jury box, as her Self lifts the tiny frame, empty now, missing the drawing mapped out so long ago. Without a single permission her Self positions the frame over the puddle of tears pooling in the footsteps of her last appearance and begins to draw. Her self gives way to exhale as the judge quickly calls a recess. There will be no verdict today.

Reporting from the court of my opinion ~

Arggh, these open endings.  I want to know about Her.  What chances did she miss out on, why did she miss them.  Does she get one more chance?  What is the verdict?

I love your line “blinded by the missing picture in her tiny frame”.

Looking forward to more from you.

Arggh, is right. I want to know her too.  and isn't that the way it is - Arggh as we await the verdict . danggit the waiting…
~grinning with my finger poised on the corner of the page.

Thanks so much for you note here and I hope to post more about her soon but I am sort of living the story so we all have to wait and see.

Blessings {i'm suppose to be working right now}

dear Synerjyz,

I am in the grip of the flow of words and story, even though I don't understand some things, language wise. I look up the words, I might miss the one or other meaning, but I couldn't care less.

I feel in a magic place, bewitched by a surreal touch that is coming to me through the choice of words and the energy they hold.

No one can stop the whining and crying of Her self as she begins to throw her case upon the jury floor…

so lovely.

there is something poetic in the language to me (and I suspect I'd even perceive that would I not know some of the writers poetry and her skill…)

with love,
Gabriele

p.s. I've used my newly bestowed magic wand and deleted your post in the other place, as requested! :)

*Oh you cast the magic in that wand so masterfully, my dear friend. Thank you

Thank you Josy and Gab your messages of encouraged compliment have found a place in my heart and have joined the other post here to spur my diving deeper into the next scene.

The magic potion released in this playshop has me captivated and grateful!

Hey there,

It took me almost to the end to figure out what was going on with the whole 'self vs Self' thing, but once I got it I REALLY got it, you know?

I really like the ending. I really get that there is no verdict, only continual proceedings. There can not be a verdict as long as Self is around, can there?

Let me know if I am way off,

Synergyz:  You absolutely picked up the ball of this excercise and are running with it. Big congratulations.  I find that there is something extremely healing and useful about stepping back from one's life and “reporting” on it as you have done here.  This almost feels like a parable by Kafka or one of the French Surrealists.  Good work!  You have a real flair for this kind of “reporting.”  Blessings,  AJN

Indeed this assignment broke my disheartened deadlock.  The distance of stepping out helped to cause a mini healing in the midst of her Self. ~smile     Thanks Happiness, for your kind words and especially for the creative assignment. I really dig it!

Awe LuLu Bell, you r a clever, clever girl indeed! I am so moved by how well you read and listen which you seemed gifted with even as a tiny toddler. You have certainly crafted the intuitive in your listening ear, may it serve you well in the next leg of your journey! ~smiles!   I am so happy that you looked to see the message in my subtle use of capitals. I ponder Her self a name and her Self a miracle.

Post script ~ There may well be a verdict in this case but with her Self around it will probably languish in appeals for eternity.

I hope you can hear the ha hah ha in the swirling of my stash as I slink off to write the next scene.   :)   Shall I post a new thread each time or re-post each new scene here?

I can only ditto everyone else's post -

I feel in a magic place, bewitched by a surreal touch that is coming to me through the choice of words and the energy they hold.

Wonderful. And I'm inspired by this piece, the depth it holds: a flower unfolding her petals… yes, more please.
