illocal

valli said Oct 20, 2007, 3:40 AM:

not just in one place . everywhere
maybe to and fro . to find the trees
falling into their shadows . light in
unseen grades and still faults

if at all why would this stop?

shifting in the branches

jenni that could be me you are talking about . have to let the *knowing being* go though :–)

the tags of grandeur, of history
the myth of largesse for us
to shrink , reduced to two locals
since we are near. we are busy

thats understandable . i have nothing
to do with any of it . but iam thinking -
shall i stand up or stand down
it depends . are you interested ?

we stand on the doorstep
of bliss or catastrophe
every time the door is opened
the red door with white mouldings

because we are door openers
because our nature is not to turn away from doors
despite the thriller movies with something unknown behind them
we still will turn the handle

how can the scorpion refuse to sting?
how can the water refuse to fall?
how can we leave doors closed?
stand up. don't stand down.

islandmans will, will be done :–)

alone in the dark .elements bristling
enveloping the shelter . elements
punctuated with a sharp living surge
aloof, predatory and unforgiving

miniature or hidden . alien to
 nurtured flesh . water
drumming on the roof, flowing
outside in  a rush

a rush that reveals something
to this alien. its headed
past any stops. it has the heart
to clean dark images

string notes tingly, spreading on the sill
and wall covers. wet drips soak tone
edges near wood , as they fall off the
mesh into glitzy stone and verandah mud

strewn leaves and petals allow them flow
arching not cringing . this cottage finds
a dormant pulse with its draw of silence
towing human touch damp with october rain

I can't be of any help to you on identifying the bird, Valli, but what a beauty!  It looks like it could be in the hawk family with that curved beak and those eyes!  Let us know if you figure out what it is … or does anyone else know?
