Elke's story: Plish Plash’ Journey

Sandra said Jan 7, 2008, 12:17 AM:

Everyone – Elke has written the 1st part to a children's story on the prose board. The idea is that anyone here can add another short 'chapter' - so long as: it is a childrens story. And has a happy ending.

I would add your chapter to the same thread, i.e. as a comment so it all stays there.- it is in the prose board Plish Plash’ Journey

I'll make it 'sticky' (so it always stays at the top of the threads on the Prose board, until it's finished…

If you want to comment on someone's addition, keep it short so we don't interrupt the flow too much!

So glad Elke has done this, I've been thinking of something similar for ages. Next time we'll do an adult story.

Love,
Sandra

Great Idea Elke!

I really love this idea.  Elke, you've given us a great start!  Plish Plash is already alive in my heart.  That said, I keep meaning to write something for a continuation but  just haven't really had enough alone time to write lately.  I will get to it soon but I just wanted to let Elke know that I love this idea and will participate.  I hope some others will as well.

XO Ayla

Drechanteuse just contributed Part Three to Elkes childrens story.  Make sure you give it a read in Diving Deeper Prose (it's sticky at the top).  She did a fantastic job and came up with some really clever and funny lines.   ideas.  I especially loved Rainy's datebook/calendar made out of leaves.  And I could just see Plish blushing and Chewy trying not to slap his tail.  Really nice work, drechanteuse.   Thank you so much.  Well - who's next???

hey sandra,

strangely enough, i started the adult story group project without knowing elke had this one up.

I want to try a slightly different approach, though.  Instead of contributing chapters could we try a looser way of contributing to story development?  Learn as we go?  anything under the sun works?

This was so much fun to write. Aside from the fact that I adore writing for children, I found it an amazing challenge to go in and take over a character someone else had created, run with it, and then stop in time to leave someone else a chance to take it to a new place. It will be so interesting to see where Squirrel, Plish Plash, Chewy and Rainy wind up, and who else they might meet along the way…

Commercial Message:

But they need your help. They cannot get where they are going without you. Please give 15 minutes of your writing day to help our characters make it through their journey. It's not tax deductible, but hey, you can't have everything.

I am sooo happy to have stumbled upon this story!!

And I look forward to contributing a chapter or a snippet very soon….only, I was wondering how we address the fact that Plish Plash began as a “she” and turned into a “he”…. ??
