It's so easy and so often accomplished that I, at least, merely have to think idly about something and then it manifests almost immediately, that I am sure that, unless our thoughts are very disciplined and practiced, or unless we very often turn over the reins to God, or see everything through a Godly lens, we can easily create what we do not wish. The very best way to manage is to let go and let God - to ask Him to decide for us and studies I've read about have proven that those who do this prosper over those who instead try to run their own lives devoid of Godly help. Whether you use another term, like higher power, or whether you perceive connection to a part of yourself as a power source, the result is the same - we, in our limited capacities, need to ask for assistance, according to most writings. And I believe it.

I agree with Azaghal is saying and have quite a few other flaws in belief in the "secret".

1. It blames the victim for random occurences such as being born with a terminal disease
2. It implies that bad things happen to good people because they are subconciously thinking about them.
3. It believes the universe to be a concious being that understands human language, but has a problem with grammer and ignores negatives such as not and no.
4. It tells people that things are effortless, which will ultimately create delusional beliefs of the world
5. it tells people to ignore sick and neative friends in case some of those thoughts or feelings "rub off" on us
6. It fails to address questions such as:
    a. If people can heal themselves, why has an amputee never grown an appendage?
    b. If Muslim extremsits devote their entire lives to thoughts of destroying America, why has
          it not happened?
    c. Since millions of people play the lottery and wish and hope, and even plan out what to do
          with winnings, why aren't there more winners on each drawing?
    d. Why are negative and generally bad people rewarded and have strokes of luck?
    e. If humans can heal themselves by good thoughts is immortality possible?
    f. what do you do if you need to heal a part of the body that has had plastic surgery and is             technically not an organic peice of you?
    g. If you ask for a lot of money will this law cause bad things to happen to others for you to                 recieve it, such as gaining an inheritence?
    h. If a positive thought is so much more powerful than a negative one why is the universe             set off so easily by the subconcious bad thoughts of generally good people, instead of                 acting on their actual wishes?
   i. If the LOA works, why did Anne Frank suffer so much? She is the most positive person I have ever heard of. After everything she saw the Nazis do, she couls still say people a still generally good!?

I could go on, but I'll just sum things up by saying the Secret is nothing more than a brilliant idea to make Rhonda Byrne a lot of money and create various delusions and misconceptions about the ups and downs of life.

Hi there! This is my first post and I wanted to discuss something with you tahat bothered me.

Well I am a true believer on human mind but watching these two documantries makes me wonder some things.

It is true that we can change our addictions.Science and real human experince showed us that we can change this.People healing wthout kemothreapy and going "cold turkey" -if yo will- with only the power of mind has great examples.

But these are things changing in OURSELVES with OUR mind and brain.

I think What the Bleep really focuses on human mind reordering but The Secret focuses on more material things like money or wealth.

Lets say you always wanted a Ford Mustang - who did not :) - , it is true and I believe that if a person puts his mind on it, and acts -that's the most important thing- for it, like saving money,checking out places for a good price not just visualising the car you are driving in the end this people working too hard for it in some time he will get it.

It is also acceptable for money and love, the most important thing here not just visualising but acting and if you ask me I will say it has an importance like 90% acting,%10 visualising.

They are all concepts which can happen and they are in somewhat small scale.But when it comes world change I found a problem.

We must remember it is an material world,I know we are trying to change it but knowing it is the first step to change it by asking the question why it is like that.

With questioning the status quo we start to realize the powers which made it powerful.As an example

The emperalist money based companies rule the world Why?
        because there is no another choice for some of them for now Why
             because good people always acts late Why
                  because they believe in people's mind and ability and so on.

The Secret says we must not focus on the problem and THE solution for itself and but A solution and how to make this solution better.

Hale Dwoskin says "If you are against war be pro peace. If you are against hunger be pro people having more than enough to eat. If you are against a particular politician be pro his opponent."

But I would say
-There is no one place and one reason.There are hundreds of different wars becouse of millions different reasons.Focus on the reasons and try to solve all of them be pro peace but be aginst the reason.

-If they have enough to eat it is not hunger.What will a place which real hunger strike if we only focus on enough fed people.

              -Is it a Social Darwinist idea? Does it say if they are in total hunger let them die
               so the others survive?

               -And by the way Does it say just think about yourself and wish for yourself, if the
                others didn't wish for it it is their problem because it says :
              "You are not here to change the world as you like to be.You are here the create the
world around you that you choose.While you would allow the world others choose
to be to exist also." Wow it really sounded like an egocentric leave them as they are
   they deserve it talk, to me isn't it? I hope not.

-In politics you must have a view.Because it is the poltics that define every aspect of our lifes.It is the idea that you look from, to the world. The Secret,What the Bleep are just tools for it.I don't say pick a idea,you can have a unified different view.But,The Secret says work for AN opponent not for THE opponent.We must work for the idea that our society most needs which they lack and we must work for it.

I hope I could work some of your neurocells to make new bindings :) And I am open to all kinds of ideas so bring it on! :b

See no evil, Speak no evil, and Hear no evil - the three monkeys of our well-known words of wisdom were exactly right.
The Secret and other systems of spiritual acquirement, whether of blessed and Godly attainment or otherwise, have at least taught us all to be mindful of our creative minds and how they work.
We electro-magnetically-charged material, ambulatory, and sometimes, thinking, appendaged contraptions may not have much control over the cosmos, or even of our own lives, and yet he one thing we CAN control is our own thoughts.
Training ourselves to think only in the most glowing terms, to spread joy and love with our imaginations, can only heighten our own actions in the real world.
This is an automatic high for ourselves and for those around us.
Lifting our spirits, we also lighten our loads of guilt, enliven our energies, and heighten our awareness and appreciation of all in our midst.
This can only - with or without acts of creation on our part, whether intended or otherwise - make our lives and everyone else's more precious.
So, our little primate brethren were right all along - see only good, speak only good, hear only good, and we will live a good life.

The Secret and The Will To Power Concepts

Most of us have heard the old term "the will to power", and although Nietzsche had abandoned his idea for a book on this concept, the phrase will forever be linked to him whether he would have approved or not.
During the post Darwinian years, the idea of human evolution and the idea of life itself has become involved with concepts like The Secret, which has never been a secret at all, and has been an approach to life used by many from childhood on.
The idea is the very foundation of what we call Witchcraft or Satanism, (their credo is "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." ), and the fact that the will to power can easily exclude all the kindest impulses and invite all the worst ones, like greed and egocentrism, like vice and catering to the lowest desires in our natures, means we should always address this subject through the lenses of spirituality.
We should first seek compassion and spiritual concerns and then only think of wish fulfillment in terms of kindness and sharing.
The only real prosperity begins with the soul and this is what all religions teach - and for a good reason - nothing lasting or truly valuable can be attained without first seeking out compassion.

My primary reason is because I love. I love all beings.
Choosing to be peaceful and compassoinate in life brings great healthiness, energy, and spirituality too as gifts given back for choosing compassion.

On Helping Others and The Secret

The part of The Secret that gives most pause, beyond the idea that wealth itself should not be the entire goal is this - they say that one should not help others.

Others say that means that only those who wish to should help others.

That's as brilliant a defense of cruelty as any I've yet heard on this subject of the book, The Secret, that has all of us pondering its' ideas.
And an excuse for self-serving apathetic greed.
We're put on this planet in order to help - all the relgions agree on this one point of service and sharing.
Our souls are the point, not materialism.

As on those gruesomely violent animal films they choose to show on nature shows now, reminding me of the Roman Coliseum so-called "games" of a decadent civilization, rather than showing kid-friendly shows, they now concentrate on displaying the most blatantly cruel footage they can create - and yes, they create these hideous death scenes by placing, say, and infant and helpless hippo in the water with a huge male they've enraged - why? In order to sell to the sponsors who tend to want ratings and who too often depending on the cruelty industries of death like meat or a spin-off industry that uses by-products of the killing industries.
They like to make the kids callous - another reason? To add to the armies, also a reason they play military films almost exclusively on weekends.
Parents are too busy to lobby for more child-proof programming, and so often now, there is only one, working parent in the home.

The reason I bring this discussion into this thread is to show that the next step is creating violence, once you've stepped into the apathetic stance of not helping others.

A decent and true wildlife photographer would step in and help if he saw a tragedy about to happen. The wild animals are so beseiged and so much going on anyway, but the result is blood-thirstiness among the viewers and the inability to empathize with the helpless among us.

As specialists all agree, not being able to care about other animals also extends to our own specie, and that's why serial killers are born from this first apathy, lack of responsibilty, and callousness, and then progressing onto other levels of violence from there.

The gun lobby and the meat industries, the military, and the mis-placed machoistic elements of thought and behavior that have colored our cruel history of domination, competitiveness and racism that is really only the true name of nationalism, continue to suppport this sort of thing.

Why would a community of so-called spiritual people like those at this site also want to further these aims by advocating NOT helping when there is a need?

Charity is the word for the type of Love, meaning Compassion, that is necessary for healing, for spirituality, and for everything decent among humanity.

Helping is the essence of it all.

It begins with caring and it needs to be addressed now if the world is to survive.

What good is creating as in The Secret if it does not extend to those who are in need?

This is taking the old idea of not caring, of other lives, of karma, to the very extreme.

Haven't we evolved past this yet?

Don't you see that those old ideas were sown by the powers that controlled the resources in ancient times in order to quell the populations' unrest? In order to control what would have been forces of disruption and revolt? To cause people, in the case of religions, to be content with their own plight, when there was no way to better their lots in life?

Yes, one can be content, if we ignore the soul and spirituality, with sitting back, complacently, and tending to our own little material worlds, creating ever more wealth and keeping it all to oneself or to one nation, but is this spiritual?
Is this just?

Does this further anything but the very most base of all human desires?
In fact, if this Secret has been given to so many people now, when through countless ages it was harbored and kept by only adepts, don't you think it was extended to all, as once Christianity extended the idea of salvation to all, in order that we might use it to prosper everyone and every being and every place in God's world? To heal it all?

Just in time to either save or to allow the world to die, we have a tool.
I also believe that synchronicity is at work, that we all are born loving all beings, and that we also love to give.
That peacefulness of the spirit, mind, body, and soul comes from kindness, and that Compassion is the entire point.

Those who get it win all - healthiness, soulfulness, spirituality, wealth, and happiness!

Fictions and Factors to Save the World

Many who follow the quick routes to success, wishing to by-pass the spiritual growth, take as their mantra the fiction that "all is good", and that right and wrong are not - as we all know they are - wired into our DNA, and are universal truths that to harm is wrong and to heal is right - and to affirm that since thoughts are things, everything that needs to be improved in order to alleviate suffering by innocent beings is only caused by the thoughts that things are not right.
Absurdity reigns, quite obviously, in this sort of thinking, but the key is to see clearly, to accept things the way they are, and to follow our hearts which will always coax us to want to help.
Yes, our wish fulfillment can lead to healing for all, and it's great to have happy thoughts if only to remain effective as an active individual who seeks to use his or her talents in order to save the world, but I'm not convinced that there isn't a separate and true reality, but by your theory which is very popular now - sort of a contemplating one's own navel kind of idea of an egocentric universe - there is only I, and you don't exist, in which case, as in a hall of mirrors, yes, I'd only see reflections of myself.
I know I'm not a creation of your mind or a fiction.
I assume everyone else believes they exist too, so, unless people believe they are the only ones alive, there is much work to be done to alleviate suffering that truly exists now.
I do see that apathy can thrive in an environment where people choose to believe that thoughts and not actions are responsible for creating reality, and also I see that accepting reality as it is and then wishing to improve it by being compassionate and wanting to heal the whole planet will stimulate people into actions necessary to save it.
To climb to a mountaintop and meditate might create good vibes, but to be a real help, I still maintain that good actions - and in reality, we all know right from wrong, of course - (except in some satanic and a few wiccan beliefs, since the left-hand path affirms that "all is allowed and do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law") - and thankfully, most who truly wish to heal and not harm are willing to roll up their sleeves and do something to help.
Believe me, if I were the first and only factor in creation, it would all be an exercise in compassion, kindness, loving all beings, and oneness.
Those are the aims of all my thoughts and prayers.
And, and this is pivotal - of my own actions in life.
I hope more and more people join the actions of caring people who are determined to save the world every day!

The allness, the oneness, is a stance we take in order to embrace the entire planet and its' lifeforms as part of ourselves, as in "love thy neighbor as thyself", in order that we will extend our concern and take action to protect everyone, including our other fellow animal species.
To take the spiritual and the actively caring aspect out of the secret will work, yes, but not to anyone's ultimate betterment, let alone to the betterment of the world.

Just as Pandora opened the forbidden box and all chaos was let loose, having it all, having too much, regarding excess and greed, to use the secret for wrong things will not lead to good things.
Also, remember the Djinns, where stories abound about unintelligent or greedy mortals who, placed in the position to wish for and to obtain limiteless desires were admonished and warned about the dangers of the two-sided sword aspect of obtaining one's wishes without having earned them by first creating a good life with a pure soul.
We know that these secrets have been held onto for countless ages by religious sages, and for good reason, and that now, due to the unprecedented threat to mere world survival, the learned ones have caused these methods to become widespread knowledge, essentially taking the gamble that right actions will occur in time to save the world, in other words, hoping that the number of good people who will only use these powers for good will outweigh the evil people who will, doubtless, merely self-implode with their greedy desires fulfilled, like when Midas wished to turn all things to gold and starved to death since he could no longer even ingest food before it would turn to metal.
Not wanting to rain on everyone's parade here - I'm merely reminding people that throughout human history these methods have been known and kept safely under wraps, handed down through wise men, in their keeping, and that although countless people stumble upon these things by accident, the real things to remember are that the old adages still apply - to create something good, first BE good.
Good intentions, good actions, wanting first the prosperity of all is the key to lasting happiness and fulfillment, as it has always been.
There are no short cuts in life, really.
Cheating the real purpose of our spiritual growth will not provide our souls with the journeys we were placed here in order to complete, challenges and all.
Honoring the entire universal system by continually learning, growing spiritually, becoming more generous, more kind, more compassionate and more loving, more helpful, and so on, as all the major religons have always told us, is the key to salvation.
The attainment of power, influence, wealth, and Earthly privilege is not promised by those scriptures we have been given, however, the warnings of the dangers the desire for such things are put there for a reason.
Being compassionate is the aim and the goal. Using our talents for the greater good and being ever more grateful, sharing, caring, and helping are obviously why were are here, especially in this time so filled with the misery caused by human overpopulation, for both humans and for all other animal species.
To alleviate suffering, to work toward saving the world, are the best ways to happiness, and are our true challenge and our blessings rolled into one.

Give up and let God, essentially.
Jesus, in the case of Christians, of course.
Allah for Muslims, - did you know that the word Islam means "submission? to God's will?
Anyway, the first thing in all religions is to Love God, then to submit to His will.
So, doing that will give by far the best results, since God already knows of your situation, your desires, your needs, and your hopes.
He will bring about a far greater solution to your life than you could have imagined.
We fear not getting exactly what we want, but God gives us what we really need, which is far greater every time!

There are shortcuts to wealth, to prosperity, yes, but there are no shortcuts to happiness.
What do I mean by that?

What I mean is that happiness is not contingent on anything but a clean conscience.

Doing only good, causing only good creates good of the one type that matters - happiness.

So many create wealth and have innumerable meaningless objects, subject others to tyranny , cause suffering and cruelty and murder and pretend to hide from their guilt, but their consciences always know the truth.

We cannot eat the bodies of innocent and helpless beings and thrive. We cannot hide from our souls.

To serve, first, our souls is the way to happiness and to true wealth.

By serving your soul, by being compassionate first, energies are set into motion that cause our true talents to come into play.

First, our minds are clear from eating only Compassionate foods - vegan foods bestow intelligence, clarity, as shown in scientific testing - we have more energy, we youthen and an exuberance for life reaches into all areas of our lives - then our clear minds connect with the Universe, opening the pathways for the creations our talents were born to give the world to transpire!

Yes, in lesser ways, we can create anything we choose, whether compassionate or cruel, and yet, given the opportunity to co-create with our Creator, who has given us the knowledge that cruelty foods cause illness, great suffering of innocent and helpless fellow beings, and the fact that meat-eating is the main reason our environment is being destroyed - plus we've been given the means to have year-round delectable plant foods that nourish, heal, and lengthen our lives - knowing this, why wouldn't we choose to be kind?

This is on the goodness or not of the average human:

I am a postiive thinker, too, and yet I do believe that many orders of many generations of humans were also kind and good, despite our current currents that are so against institutionalized religions.
They also kept these secrets from the greedy ones in power, didn't they?
Doesn't that prove it? Even the ones who supported them and to whom they owed some sort of allegiance coudl not wrest from them either privilages that went against their souls or other types of blessings.

Many state that they believe in the inherent goodness of the average human animal.

I do too, if they are Enlightened, but we will now see - this was the prescriptiion that finally threw open the doors to the secret, as the wisest among us decided to allow a free-for-all on this information, essentially gambling on the fact that more people will care and use this energy for the good in time to save the world than the greedy who will most likely conjure pleasures and things they own which directly touch their lives and probably not interfere in the overall situations - and that they will possibly self-implode when given, as in the old stories of Midas - everything they desire.

Is the individual human usually good?
Do you think that, say, the average American Republican is good?
What about the gangsters?
What about those who are Fundamentalists?
What about all those who have agendas that exclude others in the world?

I think the adepts and priesthoods who kept the secret secret were doing what they believed was right, for the most part.

I also believe that goodness eclipses badness overall - that the LIght is stronger than the Darkness - that just as individuals who do wrong contain the seeds of their own guilt and punishment and actually help themselves get caught, so too, do the ones who, for instance, eat cruelty foods - and they all know they're doing wrong, causing great suffering and misery and pain to innocent beings - are bearing the consequences for their practices against their own hearts, and collectively, as huge groups who are dragging us all to the end of the world, unless Compassion Enlightens them.

having compassion is being ethical period.
if you're not kind to all animals including humans you're not ethical or just and you can't be spiritual or enlightened either.
holiness and all that are just words for being compassionate.
if you'er comassionate to a helpless being you are spiritual, holy, enlightened and just and ethical.
that's how we can tell who is good and who is bad. simple.

To use Compassoin as a yardstick for everything in life is the best way not only to live, but to be spiritual.
It's also the best way to even attempt to manifest your desires.
Make sure that they're Compassoinate in every way.
To conjure or to direct forces to create your will is playing with things you might not understand, and the only way to ensure your own safety is to make SURE that all you desire is totally compassionate - meaning it causes no harm to any being.
To attempt to manifest has traditioanlly been the domain of the adepts - the holy orders trained in self-discipine and of course, steeped in Compassionate contemplation and only kind and ascetic practices in their whole lives.
This is the only way to be truly safe while doing what the adherants of the so-called "secret" do.
By being a compasosinate vessel, you can create compassionate things in your life.
Otherwise, the creatoins will not be what you bargained for and will double-back and do other than what you wished.
There really aren't any short cuts to power, unless they're bad ones.
