Nature

     Just being in nature feels inspiring.  Seeing the beauty all around me.  The perfect blend of colours in a sunset.  Cool, pale blues that blend into warm shades of oranges and deep pinks.  Breathing in that gift feels magical.  Easily brings me home to my breath, a feeling of balance and sweet appreciation for life.

WONDERFULLY expressed Nicola. I have spent the last 12 years up at my high desert hermitage bathed in the wonderment of Divine Grace that swamps over us when we experience the stillness of nature.

God's meditation room, I call it.  No matter what mood I may be in, I just have to step outside and within minutes, the magic of nature does its incredible work and I am soothed and calm…

Whereabouts do you live in the desert?

I did a “Walk with God” exercise earlier this afternoon.  Really lovely.  Now for the life of me, I can’t remember which book it came out of!  This is what I wrote afterwards…

Walking With God

The bubbling Source,
Like a whirling force.
Gushing white,
Feeding the stream of life.

The still pool…
Gentle waves surrounding.
The fast flowing currents,
Moving rapidly down,
Carving its way
To destinations unknown.

Surrounded by greenery.
Majesty towering upwards,
To an open, clear sky.
Dotted clouds hang high.
Contentment is my home.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful Nicola. “contentment is my home” I LIKE THAT. 
I’ve always felt that happiness is a fleeting moment, whereas contentment is a sustainable state, a conscious knowing, a settleing in to the rhythem of divine grace that begins, for me, in stillness. God Walk- motion in stillness and stillness in motion.

The Divine is watering in the garden today and every living thing is opening up wide to drink the delicious droplets falling from the heavens.  Me too!

Life and vitality everywhere I look outside.  A blue jay vigorously pounding his sunflower seed against a branch.  Darting in and out of the bushes.  Maybe there is a young one to feed?  Back and out to bob up and down on the bare branch waiting his turn at the feeder. 

Soft, springy moss carpets the slope and the sun warms up everything in its path.  Branches and leaves facing the glorious sunshine.  I too, am enjoying the gift of light.

Clear, open space internally.  I am filled with contentment.

Up early this morning taking my son to soccer camp.  I am feeling just wide open, so there is a feeling of great joy in noticing all of the sights that nature has to offer.  The rhododendrons that are native to this area are in bloom.  Beautiful whites and the lightest, most delicate pinks.  Slightly drizzly and grey, so the dark green leaves have a lovely backdrop that feels so peaceful.  Canopies of creamy blossoms are flowering everywhere… I am thankful for moments of awareness like this where it feels so easy and natural to allow the blessings of nature to fill me up.
