What other ways are there to detox your body, besides fasting (I'm not able to do that) and taking zeolites?

I thought about cleansing herb teas. There must be some vegetables too, but I can't think of any. Can you? Maybe there are also other ways?

Cauliflower and broccolli are good vegetables to eat to clean the liver. There are Chinese teas that are good for cleansing. Chollera (available at http://www.mercola.com) works to detoxify heavy metals, but I do not know if this works since I haven't used it personally.
There is a good supplement called “Cell Food” (it is distributed by Lumina Health) and is available via the internet (just typing Cell Food into google will bring up stores that sell it). I use “Cell Food” and it helps detox, kill bacteria and other germs, restore pH levels, restore electrical charge in the body, and probably more that I can't remember right now.

Thanks for mentioning those things, Ken.

Did you maybe mean Chlorella instead of Chollera? I followed your link, but it didn't work.

That's right – I meant Chlorella. My mistake for the mispell.

http://www.mercola.com is the link

The link worked for me, but using google to get to Dr. Mercola's site is another
option.

I was looking for information anyone might have about fasts. I've been considering doing one, but I wanted to know if other people have done fasts, and what their experiences were.

How long did you do teh fast for?
For what purpose?
What were the greatest challenges during the fast?
Specifically, what did you drink (what type of juice, etc)?
Did you use other supplements during/ before/ after the fast?
What was the best part?

Thank you.

Crystalized,

Let's start with your last question, what was the best part :)

Near the end of my fast I went outside to meditate in the sunlight, sat down on the
grass, closed my eyes, a few deep cleansing breaths, opened my eyes and a little white butterfly flew up and lit upon my thumbs as I was in mudra.   This, plus of course the wind speaking to me I hold extremely high in my experiences during my
fast - now, I have a new purpose which I didnt have before, and it is to revisit that place of lightness of being, gracefully.

Generally it takes the body about 3 days to move from digestion into super cleanse mode, when your digestive track shuts down and all energy which was once assigned the task of digesting food now is redirected into high gear cleanse mode.

So we can think of fasting as being conscious of what we put into our body.  Raw foods take less energy to digest than meats.   Supplementing works well too, though anything solid in the belly during the fast can trigger the body back into
digestive mode.   Liquid trace minerals are good, cell food, etc.   Juices that provide a balanced pH are probably better than juice that is acidic.   Many of the
organisms that we are fasting out live in acidic environments.   Change the pH of the cellular water, change the pH of your blood, change your entire relationship with health and the outside world. :)

The purpose you chose to fast is what its all about.   You are looking to feel better, feel lighter.   The most important advice I can give you is … as you fast .. the relative vibration of every cell in your body will begin to vibrate higher as the cells rid themselves of the lower density = lower vibration toxins.  And, you can expect your sense of purpose to change as well as you become clearer about your entire
Being = and purpose of Being.   This will also inform you how long you need to fast for.

NOTE:  with the release of lower density toxins (which carry lower density vibrations = emotions = thoughts) you want to be very aware, gracefull,
kind and compassionate to yourself and others.   Fasting is a spiritual
process of release, purification and cleansing.  Make sure your environment
will support you (friends, family, spouse, pets :_) ) while you are fasting.
Let them know you are doing this and may need to reach out to them
as you go through the release.   Set a routine of nurturing self-acceptance
that you start each day with and end each day with, with return visits to
this inner place during the day to maximize the process of release.
Journalling, prayer, mantra are all good exercises to include during this time.

Your body elmental is your closest friend and knows you better than you know
yourself, so one might invite it to guide, inform what is needed, and really
get in touch with that innate body intelligence that will continue informing
after we move from fasting back into regular daily life.

On that point, you should plan a menu of sorts to reintroduce solid foods
back into the diet, at least 3 days worth of “live” foods, fresh vegies, fruits.

Who knows, you might even continue with this new diet as you Be-Come
more of that which you discovered during the fast.

Like Yoga, the practice is not confined to the mat … same with a purification
practice such as fasting.

Love and Light's Blessings to you on your fasting journey,

Scott

Thank you for your insight.

I'm planning to set aside a week in a month or two for a fast. Meanwhile, I'm eating consciously and as living as possible. I've also been limiting and eliminating medications, and been using more natural things to find balance within myself.

: D I'm even planning on growing my own herbs for teas.

I was wondering if anyone has a purpose, if if there is a purpose for doing a short juice fast, like 48 hours. Are there any cleansing benefits, or do you have to be fasting for a greater period of time in order for there to be benefits?

I'm asking because I'm doing a 30 hour fast to raise money for the inhabitants of countries who do not have clean water to drink or food to eat. So, my purpose for this fast is greater than myself. I was considering making my personal fast a 48 hour, instead of 30. Would there be any physical benefits of it. If you have done a fast before, are there any other benefits to the first 30 or 48 hours of fasting?

Thank you for any help.

Tiffany :)

What I've heard is that even a day fast is beneficial.  Skipping a few meals can be also.  THe first two days are typically the hardest part of the fast, so keep that in mind.

i read that its good after a fast to slowly reintroduce your body to foods such as fruits, veggies and raw foods, so is it the same as you go into a fast?
can anyone give me some suggestions as to the best ways to prepare your body for a fast?  does it depend on anything, such as your current health?  i would consider myself healthier than the avearge person when it comes to my diet, but i know that my body has a long way to go on the purification trail..if anyone could help me out, i would appreciate it so much..

oh yeah, one more question: is it good to work out at all before durring or after a fast?  i do yoga a lot, and im sure meditation and breathing are really beneficial, but would a cardio workout of any kind be beneficial at any point?
thanks a lot.

In case you’re looking for more cleansing ideas, here are two more.

1. Lemon juice – never underestimate the power of drinking freshly squeezed lemon juice. I don’t have specific rules I follow when I take this – I just make sure I get some in the system.

2. Fresh fruit on an empty stomach (nothing else) – it takes about 15 minutes for fruit to process through the digestive system, so eating fruit first thing in the morning without any other food can help clean out things fairly quickly. I f you’re insulin sensitive then this may not be a good thing to try. This tip comes from my natural health care practitioner.
