B FAQ # 1: Ceiling Height?
Ceiling and Height Requirements A standard ceiling, at least 7’6”, or better, is good to have. Depending how tall you are, depending how high your ceiling is, and depending on what type of rebounder you get and how you bounce, you may find that your best bouncing happens outside (easy for us Northern Californiaers), but that you can still get a really good workout inside. I have bounced in rental homes (on vacation) and had to not do full jumping jacks, that is, I had to stop my arms and hands to rising to their highest height, and similarly, I didn’t bounce as high as I necessarily wanted to. Here’s another way to think of it. Rebounders stand between about 10” and about 14” off the ground (the newest evolution of the physical form factor of rebounding devices, the stringbounder produced in Europe, currently has it’s mat about 13” off the ground.) So, add in that amount, plus your height, and the imagine how likely you are to actually bounce off the mat. And keep in mind that you can get a perfectly intense and robust physical and energetic workout without going off the mat at all, although you would be missing some of the stuff that I find the most fun to do (and that some argue has the most health benefits … but that’s another story). |
