Rebounding – bouncing up and down on a so-called “mini-trampoline” – is my hobby, my passion, and even my integral practice.

Rebounding works on many levels … See http://www.chibounding.com if you are interested, or better yet, take a free download of my unpublished...(more)

As part of my blog, I am going to be writing some rebounding/chibounding F.A.Q.s. They'll be easier to find, it seems to me, if I put them here in one place.

Hi Jane. I always advise people to bounce barefoot, and I almost always bounce barefoot myself. A few people need extra shoe support, especially people who pronate or supinate severely (roll their feet/ankles in or out).

The advantage of barefoot bouncing is that *all* of your feet get involved. That is, with your feet actually touching the mat you get more feedback from the bottom of your feet and you can better adjust the position of the feet, and bring into play all of the musculature associated with your feet, then if you are wearing shoes or even socks.

You can try it both ways, of course, but unless it's really cold we're I'm bouncing, I'm almost always barefoot.

Thanks for your question.
