Sign match ups?

I am a gemini, and from what I have read I THINK I am 3rd cusp gemini? Born June 16, 1977. I get a bad wrap for being a gemini. People assume I am crazy right off. Bad stereotype I swear. I sometimes wonder if my sign is the reason why I have such a hard time taking control of my emotions. I have started to meditate again, and will be starting a Hatha Yoga class next week. Joining this site has also been very helpful. I have been dating a guy since last October and he is a Scorpio. I never knew or dated a Scorpio before and immediatly we started having problems. It was never candy canes and sugar cubes when we started to date. I finally just read what a Scorpio traits are suppose to be and from a website I found on google, it explained why he is so mean. Very nice when he wants to be, but can turn ugly the very next second. He is like me, but worse. Is it true that only certain signs are compatiable with others? Or is that all hype and I should try to work it out as if his sign never mattered?
