What do you do?

So, here you are in the enlightened entertainers pod.  We all make our living with our skills and talents, honed from years of study.  Tell us everything about your craft…from your first tentative steps to where you are now.

Kwiltshaq,

I have a single 5.5” X 5.5” square of a quilt my Mom made back in the late 60's.  She had all intentions of making a big quilt for the family but alas, only made the one square.

Many years later, around the early 90's, I recieved it as a gift, beautifully framed.  On the back it reads:

“This handmade quilt is a token of love to my children.  Began in 1969 - completed in 1986.”

Of course, we all laughed knowing she had collected fabrics for years and years to complete this quilt.

I have posted a photo of it in my profile pictures.  Would love to know what style she was going for.

Suppose I should have started this discussion with a post about what I do.

I started dancing professionally at the age of 10 on CBS television's Jackie Gleason Show.  My dance career took me all over the world until I retired at the age of 39 to open a dance studio with my mom, become a choreographer, and marry a man I loved dearly.

I had the studio for 15 years and honed the talent of many young dancers, most of who have professional careers of their own today.

Currently, I am concentrating on my costume design career while I run an entertainment business called “Choozi Entertainment”.  We are a high end entertainment company, specializing in one off entertainments for corporate events.  From headliners to production shows, we have over 60+ years combined professional experience.

Our website is www.choozientertainment.com  My business partner and brother's personal site is www.christopherchilders.com and his partner David, a television host, has two websites www.davidoliphant.com and www.yogawithdavid.com

My own website for my costume designs is still under construction but for now, you can access its beginnings by going to www.mathesdesign.net/soozi/

I am so looking forward to my fellow artistes joining these pages.

namaste.
