In this book Wilber presents a model of consciousness that encompasses empirical, psychological, and spiritual modes of understanding. Wilber examines three realms of knowledge: the empirical realm of the senses, the rational realm of the mind, and the contemplative realm

This is probably the most challenging of Ken Wilber's books I've read content-wise. It's one of his most important too, IMHO. It's got articles on the nature of the pre/trans fallacy and another one on different types of unconscious material. The distinction between repressed unconscious and emergent (and repressed-emergent) unconscious is quite notable. A hard one to get through but worth the effort.
