An Accessible Way to Learn About the Middle East

We had to read this as part of a summer reading assignment at my college. At first, I wasn't very knowledgeable about the events in the Middle East and was hesitant that I wouldn't be able to follow the story as a result.  But as the book is tugging at your heart with the surprising relationship twist at the end, you are simultaneously taking in a lot of knowledge about the events there that is accessible to someone who may not be an expert.

More than a kite's tale

This book not only gives you a  look into muslim culture, but it kind of opens a new way of thinking. It makes you ask questions about, if you were in the situation, what would you do?. It begins with innocence and runs deep into a story of guilt and betrayal. The very end is what gets me, I very much enjoyed this book. I would reccomend it to those who are not sensitive to violence between children.
