Immense cultural changes have occurred since these Secret Talks. Many written accounts have been offered since that time, yet the mystery remains. What did G. hope to accomplish? Why did he organize a special group unknown to all his other...(more) pupils? Thanks to a few people able to recall these talks from memory, a journal was recorded. Pupils were not permitted to make notes during the talks. As incomplete and fragmentary as they are, these notes serve to give a direct insight into the work of private groups. It should be noted that translations have been made where necessary, but the sense has been preserved as exactly as possible. In some cases, quotations are used, even where the grammatical sense is not correct, to impart the flavor and spontaneity of these talks as they were given.(less)
