Leather, tantra and spirit combine in this revolutionary sex book, which partners BDSM and sacred-sex practices. For millennia, seekers have used physical and emotional extremes to achieve transcendence and exaltation. Today, many BDSM and leather practitioners are discovering the potential
...(more) of SM practice to reach personal, interpersonal and spiritual goals. With trademark frankness and humor, these popular BDSM/sexuality authors share techniques using tantric breathing, visualization and movement with BDSM to create states of transcendence during solo and partnered sexual and practice. The authors also document their own journeys into the realm transcendent kink: one author journeys Eastern and pagan spiritual paths while the other struggles to accept bliss. They share their triumphs, too: when conceptual frameworks cease to matter and bodies and spirits combine in radical ecstasy.(less)
It is hard to place Radical Ecstasy into a conventional category. Perhaps this is as it should be. Those seeking an easy cookie cutter approach to enlightenment or who want to be spoon-fed a how-to for transcendence will not find it here. Indeed, the authors admit to having difficulty themselves with being able to define the subject of their book in blurb-sized bytes.
What Hardy and Easton have offered us is a vision of the path that they have taken in their relationships (with each other and with others) that have led to them to the place where bodies and spirits combine in transcendent bliss. Written with honesty, candidness and a good sense of humor, Radical Ecstasy will stretch the boundaries for tantra practitioners, BDSM players, sex magick worshipers and just about anyone else who is willing to explore beyond the boundaries of conventional approaches to sexuality. This book is not a lazy weekend ‘how-to’ but a vibrant and personal ‘can-do’ offering the reader a path to blissful and ecstatic sex.
“In our previous books, We've written about one way to let your brain carry you beyond the limitations imposed by your body using role-playing, fantasy and imagination. With those tools, you can be people you aren't and do things you can't. Now, we will propose that your entire body/mind/spirit can contain far more hot juicy sex energy than your body alone can sustain, and that even fragile bodies can attain unbelievably intense transcendent states by opening themselves to the forces of joy, power and sex that surrounds them.” - Dossie Easton and Janet Hardy
