another perspective

“Like the recent movie “The Day After Tomorrow”, the novel addresses real scientific issues and controversies, but is similarly selective (and occasionally mistaken) about the basic science. ….

The issues Crichton raises are familiar to those of us in the field, and come up often in discussions. Some are real and well appreciated while some are red herrings and are used to confuse rather than enlighten.”

Allow a new perspective, bitch!

Michael Crichton does it again.  It seems that every time he writes a book, he starts by picking a perspective that is well outside of the conventional perspectives of the time and proves himself right.  It's sweet.  And this time it's global warming.  With an eye-opening look at the real science behind global warming theories, Crichton takes the reader on an adventure the likes of which it is his great talent to be able to write.  From Antarctica to Iceland, France to California, this story helped steal away definition from my views on global warming.  A modern technothrilling masterpiece.
