Group cultivators AND group moderators can do the following [which members cannot do]: -Write and edit Group Description [Admin-Details tab] -Write and edit Room Description - Manage Members: email all members, invite members from the Gaia community and outside the Gaia community through the Group's invite feature, view a list of all posts of each member, remove members -Create Rooms, edit room descriptions, move rooms, delete rooms -Move Threads, lock/unlock threads, make threads sticky/unsticky, delete threads -Change Thread titles; add sub-titles - Edit Posts, delete posts
Only Group Cultivators can: -Start a group [technically, any member can start a group upon which s/he becomes a cultivator] -Delete a group -Make a member a moderator or a cultivator -Remove a moderator status from a member -Merge two groups, if they're the cultivator of both groups
Group cultivators and moderators cannot easily leave a group: -Moderators: need moderator status removed first [by the cultivator or a member of the Gaia Team, by request]- till then, they won't see the Leave Group link. -Group cultivators can leave a group only by making another member a cultivator; being removed by a member of the Gaia Team, usually upon their request; deleting the group or by leaving Gaia.
All group members: -Can start a new thread, and re-title and edit their posts for up to 15 minutes -Can use grapevine, see Recent Discussions, Group Activity -Cannot re-title an existing thread, or do any of the other cultivator/mod only duties listed above
Any website visitor or Gaia member who is NOT a group member: -Can read posts in a public or Request-In group -Cannot Reply or see the Recent Discussions list without Joining
